NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' host Sunny Hostin made her case in favor of team Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who are running on the Democratic ticket in the upcoming election. She joined her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin at the Hot Topics table to discuss the incumbent's recent interviews in which he promised to continue his campaign.

Since his miserable performance against Donald Trump in the first presidential debate on June 27, the voices calling for Biden's resignation have been growing louder. Hostin commented on the issue a day later, saying: "Maybe he (Biden) needs to be honest with himself and the American people. He can bow out at this time with grace and dignity. He has a record he can be proud of."

Sunny Hostin says rooting for Biden is 'naive and dishonest'

Hostin told her co-hosts, "I think it will be naive, and I think it will be dishonest for us to say that this President that we are looking at is the same person that we looked at in 2020."

"I think it will be dishonest for us to look at him and his performance now and his performance across the board, really, not in terms of policies and what he has got done, but when he speaks and his appearances, that this is the same man that Barack Obama's Vice President for eight years," Hostin said.

"And it would be dishonest for us to look at his record as a Senator, which is a darn good record, and say that that is the same man we are looking at today. And that concerns me," she shared.

Sunny Hostin says Kamala Harris is 'ready' to  assume the presidency

The co-host threw the spotlight on the Vice President as a qualified candidate for the top job, saying that Kamala Harris is "prepared, (and) ready."

"She's presidential," remarked Hostin, after a clip of one of Harris' recent speeches was played where the latter was seen calling out the presumptive GOP nominee, Trump. "She's ready. She can assume it (the presidency). So if he cannot complete a four-year term, we know that we are protected," Hostin added.

"I will say this, I am uncomfortable with him (biden) stepping down because I don't know that this country will vote for a Black woman," she continued. "If this country could not vote for Hillary Clinton, one of the most decorated and successful politicians and people in the world, I don't know that Kamala Harris can beat a convicted felon."

She did claim that Republicans were afraid of Harris, and later added, "I am uncomfortable with the state where Joe Biden is, but I am comfortable with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris versus a convicted felon."
