'There are no words': Christian Oliver’s co-stars mourn his death in heartfelt tribute after actor died in plane crash

SAINT VINCENT, CARIBBEAN: According to the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, actor Christian Oliver, his two young daughters, and the pilot tragically died in a plane crash on a Caribbean island on Thursday, January 4.

The 51-year-old actor, whose real name was Christian Klepser, died on Thursday after his jet crashed in the Caribbean, near the island of Bequia.

Oliver was best known for his performances in the 1995 movie 'The Baby-Sitters Club', alongside other movies like 'The Good German' and 'Speed Racer.' He recently starred in the latest 'Indiana Jones' movie as well.

His daughters, Madita Klepser and Annik Klepser were 10 and 12 years old, respectively. Pilot Robert Sachs died in the mishap as well. The plane carried only them as passengers, as per Variety.



 

Friends and colleagues pay tribute to 'Indiana Jones' actor

Following the tragic death of Oliver along with his two young daughters, friends and co-workers from the entertainment industry flocked to social media platforms to pay their tributes to the 'Indiana Jones' actor.

Actress Bai Ling honored the late actor on Instagram, writing: "Dear Christian Oliver @christianoliverofficial with tears in my eyes I cannot express the sorrow I felt when our direct Nick called me not long ago, that the plane he took had crashed , including his beautiful 2 daughters and the pilot had all passed! In the Caribbean‘s. He was having holidays."

"I just could not believe it is the truth, the last we worked filming in #hollywood was December 20th 2023, just right before Christmas," Ling continued her post.

"We supposed to have one day pick up shot tomorrow….I cried cried, it was our first and last film together, I loved working with him so much, but luckily you can see our #film it’s called #foreverholdyourpeace," she added.

Ling went on to write, "He was so. nice, worked so hard and such a brave #actor and a beautiful gentle person, we played #lovers in this film, just so so so sad ……. And his daughters were so so young …..#rip dear Christian may your soul Rest In Peace, Sending love To your families."

Cinematographer Michael Su, who recently wrapped up 'Forever Hold Your Peace' with Oliver and previously collaborated with him on the 2022 television film 'English Estate,' wrote on Instagram, "Rest easy dear friend, dear brother," as the caption for a picture of the late actor on Friday, January 5.

Su added, "I will miss our talks on set..the camaraderie during those long hauls, and the quiet moments when we watched magic happen. You and your daughters are together in eternity..."

Director Nick Lyon wrote on Instagram with a photo of Oliver and himself: "This is our 5th film together. @christianoliverofficial and me produced this one, and this is our last day of filming! We talked about producing a film together for years and finally did it!"

"Thank you for being a great colleague, actor and friend @christianoliverofficial #foreverholdyourpeace," Lyon added.

Oliver was also honored by one of his co-stars from the 1995 coming-of-age movie, 'The Baby-Sitters Club', based on Ann M. Martin's book series of the same name.

Stacey Linn Ramsower, who portrayed Mallory Pike in the movie, posted a broken-heart emoji along with the words "RIP" on her Instagram Story.

Casting director Ivy Isenberg, who collaborated with Oliver on the 2009 comedy film 'Ready or Not,' wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "I am heartbroken to hear about the death of my friend, the talented #ChristianOliver and his two daughters. My heart goes out to their mother Jessica. There are no words at a time like this."



 

Co-producer of the 2014 'Hercules Reborn' film, David Michael Latt, posted a picture of the late actor dressed as a character from the film, saying, "We met 10 years ago and made four amazing films together. You always elevated each project. But every time we met socially it was always about family and your wonderful little girls. Profound loss. #RIP #ChristianOliver."



 

Christian Oliver had a long list of credits to his name

Oliver's career from the 1990s to the 2020s included several credits. His final roles were as racecar driver Snake Oiler in 2008's 'Speed Racer' and in the 2023 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny'.

His other credits include roles in the television series 'Sense8,' 'Inspector George Gently,' 'The Baby-Sitters Club,' 'Saved by the Bell: The New Class,' and others.

He also acted in theatrical musicals, like 'Die Geschichte vom Soldaten' and 'The Abduction from the Seraglio,' per his website, which also features a sample reel of some of his best roles as of 2010, per PEOPLE.
