Garth Brooks reveals the secret to his long-lasting marriage with Trisha Yearwood
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Country singer Garth Brooks, 61, recently opened up about the secret of his long-lasting marriage with fellow country crooner Trisha Yearwood, 59.
During a recent interview, Brooks dished out the recipe for his successful marriage to be “just being together".
Garth Brooks feels 'helpless' without his wife
Brooks and Yearwood have been married for more than 17 years after tying the knot in 2005.
As the ‘Rodeo’ singer was asked about his everlasting love and the secret to his happy marriage with Yearwood, he replied, "It’s just being together. That’s it,” per OK! Magazine.
‘The Dance’ singer further dished out, "We don’t have to be doing anything, but just knowing she’s there [is nice]."
The much-in-love singer, however, also confessed that he feels so helpless without his loving wife.
The ‘She’s Every Woman’ singer gushed, "I feel so helpless because… there’s nothing I can’t do with her, and there’s nothing I can do without her. It's a blessing and a curse!"
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s collaboration over the years
Back in 2021, as the couple guest-hosted ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, the country music pair opened up about the secrets of their peaceful companionship.
Brooks then said, "I think you gotta treat it like a duet," before adding, "You gotta harmonize,” per USA Today.
He went on to theorize, “You gotta make your partner feel like they’re a star. And, if not, you’re gonna turn into a solo act pretty damn quick, if you know what I mean. We're talking about lone fiddler, bass solo."
Before the pair found love in each other and tied the knot, they were friends and collaborated in multiple projects with each other.
The couple released the song ‘In Another’s Eyes’ in 1997 when both of them were just friends and married to other people. The song earned them a Grammy in 1998.
Yearwood is also a proud stepmother to Brooks' three adult children - Taylor, 31, August, 29, and Allie, 27 - whom he shares with his former wife, Sandy Mahl.
'I’d love for the queen to be around me'
Brooks, who is never shy of expressing his love for Yearwood, shared his definition to be grateful during a heart-wrenching interview with Kelly Clarkson in her eponymous talk show on November 20.
Talking about what he was grateful for, Brooks said, "When it comes to the future, I think what you’re just grateful for is just one more day, right? Of getting to do this."
He further added, "So I think that’s it. What I’d love to say is the day I take my last breath on this planet, I’d love for my three girls to be around me and I’d love for the queen to be around me."
The 'If Tomorrow Never Comes' star also shared emotionally, "As far as Miss Yearwood … you know, I’ve said this before, I found her in the past life, I’ll find her in the next."
