LONDON, ENGLAND: The Royal Family's official website underwent a significant update that has stirred controversy, particularly concerning the profiles of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, reported by The Daily Mail.

Previously, the website featured full, individual profiles for both Harry and Meghan alongside other senior members of the royal family.

However, in the latest update, their profiles were notably downgraded, with their bios now consolidated into a single, joint entry located at the bottom of the page, below even that of Prince Andrew.

Despite the fact that the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties four years ago and have made repeated criticisms of the royal family in print and television interviews, Buckingham Palace has consistently avoided addressing inquiries about why their information remains available online.

Following Queen Elizabeth's death, the palace press office proceeded with a gradual update of the website, indicating that they would address the matter in due course.

Previously, Prince Harry's profile boasted a detailed 2,700-word biography, highlighting his role as the younger son of The King and Diana, Princess of Wales.

The website chronicled his early life, education, military career, and philanthropic endeavors, which encompassed initiatives such as the establishment of the Invictus Games and advocacy for mental health awareness through the Heads Together initiative.

Meghan's profile, though slightly condensed at approximately 1,300 words, highlighted her career as an actress, involvement in charitable activities, and official roles within the Royal Family.

However, in the recent update, the couple's profiles were merged into a joint biography comprising just 577 words, with a brief overview of their backgrounds and royal engagements.

Despite Buckingham Palace's claims that the alterations were routine and not intended as a slight, critics perceive the action as a deliberate effort to diminish Harry and Meghan's standing within the royal family.

Significantly, they are currently the sole married members of the Royal Family who lack individual profiles on the website.

Buckingham Palace has also included a link to Harry and Meghan’s new Sussex.com website. The link reads, "Information about the current work of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be found on their official website: Sussex.com."

Sources emphasized that the modifications should not be interpreted as a snub but rather as a long overdue update.

Buckingham Palace declined to provide a comment but acknowledged that website design and content are periodically updated.

The updated biography for the Sussexes emphasizes their choice to step back as working royals in January 2020, providing only a concise summary of their individual backgrounds and royal commitments.

This marked demotion has raised eyebrows and fueled speculation about Buckingham Palace's intentions.

Critics have accused the palace of deliberately diminishing Harry and Meghan's status within the royal family, with some suggesting that the move reflects ongoing tensions between the couple and the monarchy.

However, Buckingham Palace has abstained from commenting on the issue, attributing the alterations to routine updates and technical issues.

Following the recent downgrade of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's profiles on the official Buckingham Palace website, the internet has erupted with criticism, labeling the couple as "selfish" and questioning their continued use of royal titles.

Social media platforms were flooded with comments denouncing Harry and Meghan's perceived sense of entitlement.

One user remarked, "Won’t change a thing. They will still use the titles. They are selfish like that," while another sarcastically quipped, "LOL! I am sure they are devastated."

Amidst the online backlash, some users specifically targeted Meghan, expressing a desire for her royal titles to be revoked.

One user commented, "Wonderful, I wish they could take their titles away especially MM," while another asserted, "Downgraded or not, he will always be a Prince. It’s Meghan that needs to be taken down a peg or two. She really thinks she should be Princess Meghan."
