WASHINGTON, DC: Former president Donald Trump disparaged Nikki Haley on Saturday, March 2, saying that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is 'a little bit' smarter than her.

Days before the Super Tuesday elections are set to take place, on Saturday night, Trump spoke to an ebullient throng in Richmond, Virginia.

Trump prevailed in the Republican primaries in Michigan, Missouri, and Idaho earlier on Saturday. In an evening speech to a gathering of supporters, the former president bemoaned the way his remarks had been reported in the media, which had called President Biden "President Obama."

Trump said that he calls Biden 'Obama' on purpose. He also said that he had mistaken Haley—dubbed 'Birdbrain' by him—for Pelosi.

He said, "I purposely mix up a name, like Birdbrain… you know who Birdbrain is, right, Nikki, with Nancy Pelosi. I put them in because they're interchangeable in my mind. Except I have to say, I shouldn't say this about a semi-Republican, but I think Pelosi's probably a little bit smarter, actually," per Fox News.

Following Trump's remark in January 2024 that Pelosi was "Haley," Haley declared that the president was not "mentally fit" to hold public office.

Haley said during a January rally in Keene, New Hampshire, "Last night Trump is at a rally and he’s going on and on, mentioning me multiple times as to why I didn’t take security during the Capitol riots. Why I didn’t handle Jan 6 better. I wasn’t even in DC on Jan 6. I wasn’t in office then."

She added, "They’re saying he got confused, that he was talking about something else, he’s talking about Nancy Pelosi. He mentioned me multiple times in that scenario."

Internet stays divided as Trump says Pelosi is 'probably a little bit smarter' than Nikki Haley

People on the internet had mixed reactions when Trump said Pelosi is 'probably a little bit smarter' than Nikki Haley. A user wrote, "This is maybe true," while one added, "Trump really needs to stop bad mouthing fellow Republicans, regardless of what they say about Him."

A person also wrote, "What does Trump know about intelligence?" whereas one mentioned, "Both they are both smarter than you when it comes to governments." A person also stated, "Why can’t he be nice to women? Big obstacle to winning."
