'Those drugs can be good': Rebel Wilson admits she tried Ozempic during her weight loss journey
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rebel Wilson's drastic body transformation made headlines, with many wanting to know the secret behind it.
In her recent exclusive interview with Sunday Times, the actress finally opened up about her weight loss journey and admitted that she briefly tried Ozempic to maintain her 80-pound weight loss.
She told the outlet, "Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good," adding that she is no longer on Ozempic.
Rebel Wilson had to deal with emotional eating before starting on her weight loss journey
The transformation for Wilson began in 2020 after her fertility doctor suggested that losing weight would improve her chance at IVF.
In the interview, she further expressed, "Basically no one apart from my mom wanted me to lose weight. People thought I’d lose my pigeonhole in my career, playing the fat funny character, and they wanted me to continue in that."
Rather than taking any drastic measures, Wilson started her journey with slow long walks and a low-sugar, high-protein diet.
After growing into her new routine, the 'Pitch Perfect' actress added two-and-a-half-hour workout sessions. This included running up the steps of the Sydney Opera House in Australia and going for "crazy" cardio sessions.
"It so felt good that I kept going," noted Wilson, sharing that she talked with her doctor regularly to keep her emotional eating and diet in check.
Talking about her previous relationship with food, the 'How To Be Single' star said, "I wasn’t dealing with my emotions properly, I was just stuffing my face and holding on to them."
Wilson is quite comfortable with her current weight. She likes being "still curvy and solid" rather than obsessing over the figure of Victoria’s Secret models.
The actress welcomed her daughter, Royce Lillian, via surrogate with her fiancee, Ramona Agruma, in November 2022.
