Three charged with abuse following death of Kentucky woman found 'covered in feces' on her bed

RICHMOND, KENTUCKY: According to Court TV, three individuals have been charged in relation to the death of a woman in Kentucky.

Melissa Compton, David Lamb, and Carrie Lamb are facing charges of criminal abuse and failure to report abuse and neglect of an adult.

Carrie Lamb is also facing an additional charge of criminal abuse of a child. Additional details regarding the woman's death have emerged during the recent trial.

Melissa Compton’s mother found dead in an ‘unlivable condition’

At approximately 2.15 pm on February 10, Madison County EMS sought assistance from the Richmond Police Department concerning a neglect case at a residence located on Primrose Circle.

Officers discovered Melissa Compton's 52-year-old mother deceased in her bed, with the bedroom described as being in a state of complete disarray. 

The bed was found to be covered in feces, decaying food, and insects. 

The entire home was reported to be cluttered with trash and molded food, while the refrigerator contained black mold and maggots, as detailed in the arrest citation.

David, aged 21, and Carrie Lamb, aged 24, along with Carrie's two-year-old son, resided in the same household with her mother and grandmother (Madison County Detention Center)

According to Newsnation, in a nearby room, officers discovered Compton's brother, who was described as "severely handicapped" in court documents.

He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and confined to his bed. Authorities observed that his bedding was soaked in urine and he appeared malnourished.

According to court documents, David, aged 21, and Carrie Lamb, aged 24, along with Carrie's two-year-old son, resided in the same household with her mother and grandmother. 

Allegedly, Carrie, David, and Melissa acknowledged to the police that the living conditions were unsuitable and hazardous for their family. Despite this awareness, they did not consider seeking help from authorities.

Melissa, Carrie, and David have been detained at the Madison County Detention Center and are scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
