Tiger Woods’ mugshot released after DUI arrest over Florida rollover crash
JUPITER ISLAND, FLORIDA: Martin County Police have released a mugshot of Tiger Woods after he was arrested and charged with DUI in Florida following a rollover crash. The accident happened on Friday, March 27, in the afternoon in Jupiter Island.
However, the incident did not hurt Woods, who crashed his Land Rover while trying to overtake a truck, and the other driver involved. Martin County Sheriff John M. Budensiek confirmed during a press conference, “In the crash, no one was injured. Mr Woods did not seem to be injured at all, and the other gentleman was not injured.”
Police chief says accident could have been worse if someone was 'moving in the opposite direction'
“This is a small two-lane road. Had there been someone moving in the opposite direction, this could have been a lot worse,” Budensiek noted, who also explained the scene at the accident site.
“The Jupiter Island Police Department responded out there and found a pickup truck pulling a pressure cleaner, and a Land Rover which was rolled over on the driver's door,” he said.
The police chief also shared that the golf star was “lethargic on scene because of what he was intoxicated on” and showed “signs of impairment”.
Tigers Woods will be kept in a separate cell
“Mr Woods did a breathalyzer test, blew triple zeros, but when it came time for us to ask for a urinalysis test, he refused and so he’s been charged with DUI, with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test,” the sheriff added.

But Budensiek told the reporters that Woods won’t be imprisoned with “other inmates that can hurt him”.
He said, “It doesn’t matter who you are: If you break the law, we’re going to follow the law. We’re going to make sure he’s safe...He’s not going to be with other inmates that can hurt him or try to capitalize on what he did.”

“He’ll pay the price, but he’s not going to pay the price by getting punished in jail,” the police chief stated.
Tiger Woods was arrested for DUI in 2017
However, this was not Woods’ first DUI arrest as he was previously taken into custody in 2017. At the time, he was found sleeping inside his still-running Mercedes along a roadside in Jupiter.
Later in a statement, he had said, “I understand the severity of what I did, and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”
