LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tobey Maguire has been making headlines again alongside his ex-wife Jennifer Meyer, following rumors of the 'Spiderman' star dating 20-year-old model Lily Chee. 

During an interaction with a user on Instagram, Meyer appeared to come to Maguire's defense amid speculation about him dating Chee. 

The rumors gained traction after Maguire and Chee were spotted together at Michael Rubin's annual Independence Day party. 

On July 4, the 49-year-old actor was photographed with his arm around the model-actress at the star-studded White Party in the Hamptons, New York.

Meyer, who was married to Maguire for nine years before their separation in 2016 and her filing for divorce in 2020, reportedly defended him in heated Instagram exchanges. 

In response to a comment, that has since been deleted, accusing Maguire of being involved with someone "3 years older than your daughter," Meyer asserted that he was "kindly helping" Chee to her car.

The 47-year-old fashion designer emphasized that Maguire was simply "being a good guy." 

She added, "And now he has [been] blasted online for dating someone he is not. But thank you for your rude comment. I hope it made you feel better today. Wishing you love and light."

Meyer purportedly later addressed the same individual, stating, "I am disengaging after this… But don’t believe everything you read (I’m sure you were taught that somewhere) Tobey is as good of a guy as it gets."

Meyer and Maguire have two children together: their son Otis, aged 15, and daughter Ruby, aged 17, as per People.

The couple exchanged vows in Kona, Hawaii, in 2007. Meyer filed for divorce from Maguire in October 2020, several years after their separation.

In October 2016, a source claimed that Meyer and Maguire had "been living separate lives for a while."
