Toby Keith's daughter Krystal moves fans with soulful rendition of National Anthem at Armed Forces Bowl

FORT WORTH, TEXAS: The Oklahoma Sooners once again honored country singer Toby Keith, who died on February 5, 2024, from stomach cancer, during their game against the Navy Midshipmen at the Amon G Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, on December 27, 2024. 

The 'Should’ve Been A Cowboy' hitmaker grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and was a longtime fan of the University of Oklahoma football team. 

During the 22nd annual Armed Forces Bowl, Toby's daughter, Krystal Keith, 39, who is a talented singer in her own right, paid a moving tribute to her late father by belting out a magical performance of the 'Star-Spangled Banner', as per Whiskey Riff.

The Sooners have left no stone unturned to honor the late 'American Soldier' hitmaker ever since his death last year.  

Whiskey Riff reported that the university honored Toby's memory by having the band play his hits between the third and fourth quarters of football games this season. 

The Sooners also left the country singer's seat open at their first basketball game after his death. They also served drinks in red Solo cups (in remembrance of the song ‘Red Solo Cup’) during a match.

The University of Oklahoma even awarded Toby an honorary degree at their 2024 commencement ceremony. 

The latest in the long list of moving tributes is inviting Krystal to sing the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ during the game between the Sooners and Navy Midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy.

Adding to her melodious vocals was the collective voice of thousands of spectators who joined in unison. 

The Navy won the game with a final score of 21-20. 

During the Sooners’ season opener match against Temple Owls in August 2024 at the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, also known as Owen Field, the fans belted out Toby’s 2002 hit, ‘Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue’, which was a sight to behold.

Fans heaped praises on Krystal Keith while gushing that her father would be so proud of her. 

On Instagram, one wrote, "He’s right there with her - he WOULD & always was proud of her. ❤️," and another said, "Such a beautiful voice!"

A person stated, "Papa Keith would be so proud!" while another fan praised, "Nailed it! Absolutely beautifully done 🔥🙌."

"You go girl, your daddy would be so proud.❤️," said an emotional fan. 

Someone else noted, "Goosebumps! Way to go Krystal, you’re amazing 🇺🇸."

"Congrats! I know he was so proud looking down on her!" one more stated, while another fan added, "Such a beautiful voice and her dad would be so proud of her ❤️."

"She has amazing talent! I know her family is so proud and Toby Keith is, too!! ❤️ 🇺🇸," read another comment. 

One more said, "❤️ That was beautiful and powerful!... great job your dad is smiling down on you!!"
