Toby Keith's social media post shows him performing a day before his death, Internet calls it 'devastating'

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Toby Keith’s final Instagram post, shared on February 4, has left his fans emotional.

The online share showed him performing seemingly at the Las Vegas Park MGM Hotel in December 2023, Daily Mail reported.

The caption of the short clip read, “And that’s a wrap on the weekend, y’all. Back to it,” as it suggested that the music legend was hopeful about the future and intended to perform more.

However, his death due to cancer at the age of 62 has shattered his fans.

One fan in the comment section of the online post shared, “I don’t understand how someone can put on a show like that and die of cancer the next day? How does this happen overnight? Obviously, he was sick for a long time but how do you go from being able to put on a show one night and cancer taking you the next? Surreal.”

A second one wrote, “I couldn’t imagine being in that crowd and waking up the next day realizing you just saw him for the last time…devastating.”

Toby Keith disclosed his cancer diagnosis in 2022

The ‘Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue’ singer found out about his stomach cancer in 2021.

A year later, he revealed it to his fans as he reportedly noted, “Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation, and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover, and relax.”

Also, he praised his wife Tricia Lucus following his cancer diagnosis.

Keith reportedly said, “She's been a trouper. She's the best nurse. The first time we went to Houston, to the hospital, she stepped right in and she just took control and said, 'We got this. Let's go.’ So she's like, 'We're going to get this, and don't worry about it.’”
