Al Roker shares new career move away from ‘Today’ Show

In a year-end surprise for his fans, Al Roker disclosed on Friday that he has four books set to debut in the upcoming months.

The ‘Today’ show host and author revealed that three of these titles are reissues, while the fourth is an entirely new novel.

In addition to his non-fiction contributions, Roker is also the co-author of the 'Morning Show Murders' series, collaborating with writer Dick Lochte.

The series unfolds the story of TV host Billy Blessing, who embarks on solving mysteries after finding himself implicated in a murder case.

After more than a decade since the release of the third and latest book, ‘The Talk Show Murders,’ Roker has announced the return of the 'Morning Show Murders' series.

Taking to Instagram, the meteorologist shared the news, "I'm excited to share that The Morning Show Murders series will be re-released beginning in January 2024 with a completely new, redesigned cover through @blackstonepublishing. Written by myself and @dicklochte — and kindly dubbed a 'funny, funny, very funny mystery' by @jamespattersonbooks — the series combines the magic of morning show television with the charm of your favorite murder mysteries."

Continuing his announcement, he said, "Haven't read them yet? Now's your chance! This mystery will keep you wanting more, which is perfect since we are adding a brand new fourth book to the series: MURDER ON DEMAND, releasing on April 23rd! Preorder today to get a jump-start on your cozy morning mysteries."

The synopsis for the upcoming book, as per Amazon, offers a glimpse, "Ten years have passed since Billy Blessing's adventure in Chicago, and a lot has changed. With the advances in television—the vanishing cable news and the flood of streaming channels entering the market—Billy found himself out of a job. Billy decides to get a new chef job in North Fork Long Island, and all is going well until a woman begins begging for his help in solving the possible murder of her father."
