Tom Cruise enters 'strategic partnership' with Warner Bros and promises 'great movies', Internet says 'rooting for it'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Cruise​ and Warner Bros have reportedly decided to make blockbuster movies together as they signed a deal.

As per Variety, the entertainment company will make original as well as franchise films with the 61-year-old actor.

Tom Cruise has a years-long relationship with Warner Bros

The move will also see Cruise and his production company setting up their offices near Warner Bros Discovery’s office in Burbank.

Though the ‘Top Gun’ star has struck the deal with Warner Bros, it does not mean he won’t work with other entertainment firms.

Also, it’s not the first time, Cruise has been working with Warner Bros. 

Previously, the Hollywood icon has created films, like ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ and ‘Interview with the Vampire’ with the entertainment company.

Warner Bros reportedly trying to revive the company via Tom Cruise

The co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros Motion Picture Group, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, stated the development.

The two reportedly said, “We are thrilled to be working with Tom, an absolute legend in the film industry.”

They continued, “Our vision, from day one, has been to rebuild this iconic studio to the heights of its glory days, and, in fact, when we first sat down with [Warner Bros Discovery chief] David Zaslav to talk about joining the Warner Bros Discovery team, he said to us, ‘We are on a mission to bring Warner Bros back – we have the best resources, storytelling IP, and talent in the business – and we need to bring Tom Cruise back to Warner Bros!’”

“Today, that becomes a reality and we are one step closer to achieving our ambition,” De Luca and Abdy mentioned, before adding, “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Tom back to Warner Bros. and look forward to bringing more of his genius to life on screen in the years ahead.”

Cruise also shared his thoughts on the partnership.

He noted, “I have great respect and admiration for David, Pam, Mike, and the entire team at Warner Bros Discovery and their commitment to movies, movie fans, and the theatrical experience.”

The star added, “I look forward to making great movies together!”

Meanwhile, many people reacted online over the Cruise-Warner Bros pact.

An X user tweeted, “I hope that with this deal it’s another indication that Mission Impossible 8 will be his last one.”
