CANNES, FRANCE: Tom Cruise isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The legendary actor continues to charge ahead with action-packed roles and big-screen ambitions despite being 62.

At the New York premiere of 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning', the latest instalment of the 30-year-old franchise, Cruise made it clear that retirement isn’t even a thought in his mind.



 

Tom Cruise says he’ll keep making movies 'into my 100s'

While reflecting on a past comment about acting into his 80s, Cruise doubled down on his ambitions during the New York premiere.

“I actually said I’m going to make movies into my 80s,” Cruise told The Hollywood Reporter. “Actually, I’m going to make them into my 100s.”

Known for performing his own stunts, Cruise said, “I will never stop. I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films. I’m excited.”



 

In 'The Final Reckoning', Cruise performs a series of intense sequences, including clinging to a biplane midair, engaging in brutal fight scenes, and a tense underwater moment, per Parade.

Looking back on his long-running 'Mission: Impossible' franchise, Cruise said he couldn’t single out one standout moment from the experience.

“There’s been so many levels of reward with the filmmakers that I’ve collaborated with, the crews, the people, the cultures that we’ve worked in," Cruise said.

"Everything that I’ve learned and continue to learn about storytelling, about life, about leadership, about character and every aspect of filmmaking," Cruise said to THR.

“It’s been exceptional, it really is exceptional. I feel very fortunate to be able to make the films that I make and I love it. I love just making movies,” he added.

Referncing the title of the latest 'Mission: Impossible' entry, Cruise suggested that he’s ready to move on from the franchise. “It’s the final! It’s not called ‘final’ for nothing,” said Cruise.

Tom Cruise teases sequels to 'Top Gun: Maverick' and 'Days of Thunder'

While the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise may be wrapping up, Cruise isn’t done with sequels. He recently told 'Today Show Australia' that more familiar stories may be in the works, according to New York Post.

“Yeah, we’re thinking and talking about many different stories and what could we do and what’s possible,” Cruise said.

"It took me 35 years to figure out ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, so all of these things we’re working on, we’re discussing ‘Days of Thunder’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick',” he said.
