Tom Cruise warned by friends about Russian girlfriend Elsina Khayrova over her close ties to Putin

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood star Tom Cruise is no stranger to exceptional romantic stories. With charming good looks and a sensational career on the big screen, the actor is now making headlines for his supposed romance with a Russian socialite.

However, things may not be as smooth sailing as one might wonder, as friends of Cruise may have cautioned him on his romance.

Tom Cruise cautioned against dating Elsina Khayrova

The 61-year-old actor has been basking in the glory of his latest film, 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One', and has also been enjoying his time with his new love interest Elsina Khayrova.

While little is still known about their romance, their road to ‘forever after’ may have hit a bump. 

As per RadarOnline, it seems that Cruise has been warned about Khayrova as she may have links to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Khayrova is the daughter of Russian parliament member Rinat Khayrova.

The former model is herself fresh off a divorce, and they have been seen together recently in London. Reports claim that Khayrova herself could be linked to Putin, which may not bode well for Cruise, whose tryst with Scientology is well-documented.

"Tom's been told Elsina could be a Putin pawn," the report stated. "Convincing an American icon to look sympathetic to his war-mongering agenda would be a huge international PR win for Putin!"

Tom Cruise may have his own reasons for dating Elsina Khayrova

The report further went on to state that the high-profile actor may also have his own reasons for dating Khayrova.

He has seemingly been looking for a new bride for a while now and believes that he may look to settle down with the former Russian model.

"Tom has been looking for a new bride for years — and not just for himself," the tipster said.

"He is the de facto face of the Church of Scientology, and there is nothing they would like more now than for Tom to have a highly publicized wedding!" the source added. 

The 'Top Gun' star was first married to actress Mimi Rogers before they divorced in February 1990.

He then met Nicole Kidman on the sets of 'Days of Thunder' and the couple tied the knot in December 1990. However, they divorced in 2001.

The star was then romantically linked to numerous actors, including his 'Vanilla Sky' co-star Penelope Cruz.

He subsequently went on to profess his love for Katie Holmes, and they got married in 2006. The couple got divorced in 2012.

Reports also claim that a high-profile wedding would save Scientology from the blemishes of the Danny Masterson trial, where he was convicted of raping two women and was sentenced to 30 years in jail.

However, the leaders of the religious organization are wary that Elsina Khayrova’s links to Putin make it a “two-edged sword.”

"Scientology's leaders would love the positive press that would come with Tom crowning Elsina, the church's new queen," the insider alleged. "But her links to Putin make it a two-edged sword," they added. 

It remains to be seen whether the romance with Khayrova will end in Tom Cruise getting married for the fourth time.
