LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The catastrophic wildfire continues to ravage Southern California, leaving thousands of structures destroyed.

Hollywood legends Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg have reportedly been lucky as their homes have withstood the flames.

Hanks’ cliffside home and Spielberg’s wooded estate remain intact while much of their Pacific Palisades neighborhood has been reduced to ashes.

The fires have leveled numerous high-value properties and historical landmarks across Los Angeles County.

'Pretty startling difference' between Tom Hanks' house and those in his neighborhood

TMZ shared photos and videos showing the stark contrast between their properties and the devastation surrounding them.

According to the publication, footage shows the house above Tom Hanks’ residence engulfed in flames while his home appears untouched.

It reported, "Tom's pad stands without even a speck of ash on it."

The publication referred to this as a "pretty startling difference," adding "white walls of Hanks' house are still standing."



 

Steven Spielberg house survives catastrophic LA wildfires 

Steven Spielberg’s property, too, survived, the wildfires, with TMZ stating it’s “hard to tell from the pictures.” The publication, however, later confirmed that the director’s home is “doing just fine.”

The report described this as a "win" situation for the iconic filmmaker.

Hanks and Spielberg share a long history of successful collaborations.

Hanks starred in Spielberg’s acclaimed film 'Saving Private Ryan' and the two even co-produced the HBO series 'Band of Brothers.'

While Tom Hanks’ and Steven Spielberg’s homes survived, the wildfire has wreaked havoc on Pacific Palisades, home to film, television and music stars, where the median house is worth $4.5 million, as per reports.

The largest blaze consumed nearly 12,000 acres (5,000 hectares) in Pacific Palisades.

Celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell, Sandra Lee, Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, and Los Angeles Lakers' head coach JJ Redick have reportedly lost their homes.

Paris Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis, Eugene Levy, James Woods, and Billy Crystal are among those whose properties are at risk or have been lost.

Significant landmarks, including Palisades Charter High School, Will Rogers State Historic Park, and Getty Villa, have also been destroyed.

Other properties like the Topanga Ranch Motel and Theatre Palisades have suffered extensive damage, according to Forbes.

Properties of celebrities such as Cameron Mathison, Ricki Lake, Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, and Miles Teller have also been damaged by the wildfire, Reuters reports.
