The news follows Zendaya's appearance at the 2025 Golden Globes on January 5, where she sported a huge diamond ring on her left hand ring finger.

Tom Holland's 'class act' for Zendaya's family

Tom Holland reportedly approached Zendaya's father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, "months ago" to ask for her hand in marriage, per TMZ before dropping on one knee in one of her family homes over the holidays. 

Sources revealed that Holland is very traditional and considered it very important to secure Kazembe's blessing first.

Kazembe accepted to offer his daughter's hand in marriage and according to the report, Zendaya's family is excited about the engagement as they love Holland.

They described him as "a class act." 

Everyone close to Tom Holland and Zendaya knew about the engagement but not the timing!

The engagement plan had been in the works for months, with Tom Holland ensuring the right moment to prop the question for Zendaya to marry him.

"Everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening," People reported, citing sources.

But they were unsure of the timing. Holland had been eager to propose to Zendaya, "for a while," the source added.

"He's always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special," the source added.

Holland had already shared the happy news with friends around New Year's as according to TMZ engagement was very romantic and intimate, without the family of any of the actors present. 

The sources described it as just a sweet moment between him and Zendaya.

Despite their engagement, Tom Holland and Zendaya are in no rush to tie the knot. They plan to enjoy their engagement while focusing on their careers.

"They will just enjoy things for now and won't rush a wedding," People reported.
