Tom Holland reveals his plan to 'disappear' from acting after he becomes a father
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Holland is soon going to take a permanent break from the spotlight after he starts a family.
Holland, who has been in a public relationship with Zendaya since 2021, spoke about his intentions to focus on family and live a quieter life.
Tom Holland says he'll prefer fatherhood and golf over acting
The 28-year-old actor opened up about his future plans and shared how life might change when he becomes a father.
"When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore," Holland told Men's Health.
The 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' star said all he will do is go golfing and be a father. "Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth," he added.
Holland and Zendaya, who began dating after starring together in the Spider-Man movies, confirmed their relationship in 2021.
He also revealed during an October 22 appearance on 'The Tonight Show' that another sequel in the franchise is set to start filming in the summer of 2025. The movie is expected to release in theaters in July 2026.
Zendaya's thoughts on fame and raising children in public eye
Zendaya got candid about her thoughts about "complicated feelings about kids and fame and being in the public eye," during an interview with Teen Vogue in April 2024.
She said, "I have friends that have kids, or are having kids," before adding, "I don't necessarily want my kids to have to deal with [the pressures of being a public figure]," during the interview.
She further shared her hopes for a balanced life, saying she would like to "make things and pop out when I need to pop out, and then have a safe and protected life with my family," per Vogue.
"Without worrying that I am not delivering something all the time, or not giving all the time, that everything's going to go away, she added reflecting on her concerns with fame.
Tom Holland's discomfort with Hollywood and fame
Tom Holland, who has been acting since childhood previously discussed his mixed feelings about Hollywood during a July 2023 appearance on the Jay Shetty Podcast.
"Look, I really am a massive fan of making movies, but I really do not like Hollywood. It is not for me," Holland said, Page Six noted.
"The business really scares me. I understand that I’m a part of that business, and I enjoy my kind of interactions with it," he said.
"But that said, I am always looking for ways to kind of remove myself from it, to kind of just live as normal a life as possible," Holland explained during the podcast.
