WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has launched a strong critique against "woke globalists" for encouraging children to transition and compete as transgender athletes in women’s sports.

In a recent appearance on Fox News' 'Sunday Morning Futures', the 70-year-old claimed that men’s sports teams are increasingly becoming women’s teams due to gender transitions.

He also argued that Democrats support this movement and stressed the importance of opposing it to protect women's sports.

Tommy Tuberville told host Jackie DeAngelis, "We have entire men’s teams across this country now that are turning trans—women’s teams—they’re turning trans," adding that the situation will escalate as "woke globalists" push children to transition if they can't compete in men's sports.

He claimed, "That’s going to be a situation where it’s going to pick up speed because these woke globalists are pushing these kids to say, 'If you can’t compete in men’s sports, let’s just transition and say you’re a woman and participate in women’s sports.'"

Tuberville called this "dead wrong" and emphasized the need to stand against it, claiming that Democrats fully support this movement.

His remarks followed the failure of his bill, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which sought to restrict transgender students from competing on women’s sports teams.

The bill, which aimed to strengthen Title IX protections for female athletes, failed to overcome a Senate filibuster earlier this month, receiving only 51 votes, nine short of the 60 needed.

The legislation would have reinforced an executive order signed by President Donald Trump in February, which aimed to ban transgender students from participating in women’s and girls' sports, as per HuffPost.

The Trump administration backed the initiative, asserting, "This bill would expressly recognize what is already federal law — that it is an illegal act of discrimination for a man to participate in a federally funded athletic program or activity designated for women or girls."

One said, "Once again, Tommy ate a giant bowl of stupid for breakfast this morning," and another wrote, "This dude needs to shut up and retire."

A person declared, "A literal lie," while someone else pointed out, "The head of the NCAA revealed that there are only 12 trans student athletes across the entire US combined. The chances that even two of them are at the same university let alone on the same team playing the same sport are miniscule."

"It's not true.  But even if it were... What is the problem?" an individual asked.

"@SenTuberville name one team where this has happened.  Just stop with this weird faux witch hunt," another person fumed, whereas one more wrote, "Time for tuberville to step down and just disappear into the shadows, the embarrassment just grows by the day."
