LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tony Todd was not in a good shape before he died at the age of 69, according to a tipster.

Despite his declining health, the 'Final Destination' star allegedly pushed himself and continued to work in his final months. His wife Fatima confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that he died at his home in Marina del Rey on Wednesday, November 6, following a long illness.

Also, New Line Cinema, which produced the ‘Final Destination’ franchise, wrote in a statement, “The industry has lost a legend. We have lost a cherished friend. Rest in peace, Tony.”

After the news of Tony Todd's death spread online, a tipster wrote tweeted on X, “I didn’t want to concern anyone and I hoped he’d recover but I heard Tony Todd was in *really* rough shape while shooting FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES and it’s obvious in the movie he’s struggling with something. Rest in peace :(.”

The actor filmed the movie from March 4 to May 6, 2024, according to reports. Many people shared their thoughts on the tipster's claim in the social media post.

An X user commented, “That’s so f****** sad to hear. I’m glad he was able to film it before he passed, but it’s awful to hear that he was struggling and hurting. I hope he’s at peace now.”

Another wrote, “He was supposed to guest at a convention I vended at 2 weeks ago and he canceled his appearance. I was so bummed, I REALLY wanted to meet him, but someone had told me he had been fighting with cancer for some time now. He was SUCH a legend. This is a huge loss for the world.”

One individual wrote, “This is so upsetting. But it's clear he powered on as he knowingly always has done to deliver what I'm sure will be an incredible performance with him giving it his all. I'll be seated for Final Destination now in a whole new context. I hope the movie pays a huge tribute.”

“That just makes the movie sound really sad. I don’t mean it’ll be bad (I hope not) but it’ll definitely be very bittersweet,” another tweet read.

One person said, “Damn was wondering about his appearance in this movie. This is sad to hear RIP.”

“Lost a horror icon and legend today. So sad. RIP Tony,” one person stated.

The ‘Candyman’ star told ComicBook.com, “Cancer has affected our lives in one way or the other, and it was ironic because when we filmed it — right after that I happened to be diagnosed and I had to fight about nine months working throughout, doing chemo and it did change my whole perspective.”

“For me, looking back on it, it was very prophetic. I’m fine now, I’m cancer free. I have more excitement in life than ever before. Offers keep coming, in spite of this pandemic. So, there’s very little to complain about,” he added in 2020.
