‘Too much eggnog for you’:‘Today’ meteorologist Al Roker teases Savannah Guthrie over cooking mishap
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ weatherman Al Roker recently teased co-star Savannah Guthrie as she struggled during a cooking segment.
During a cooking segment episode posted on December 24 on Today Food's YouTube channel, Roker called out his co-host about an on-air blunder she made.
Guthrie hosted a holiday dessert segment and tried her hand at piping frosting onto some brownie fingers, but was evidently finding the task challenging.
This came following Roker’s admission on Instagram that he was "struggling" and "it's been a long road" to recovery.
He also recently promoted the Musical Awards in St Louis, Missouri, and captioned the backstage video, “Meet some of the incredible team responsible for bringing you the Musial Awards! Get a glimpse into the hard work and dedication that goes into bringing you this extraordinary event honoring the best in sportsmanship.”

Al Roker mocks Savannah Guthrie
On the ‘Today’ show episode that aired on Thursday, December 21, Savannah Guthrie took the lead in a cooking segment featuring guest chef Matt Adlard.
While the other hosts sat at a nearby table, they observed and indulged in the delicious chocolate dessert crafted by their guest.
As the segment approached its conclusion, the moment arrived to pipe frosting onto the treat. The chef showcased his expertise on one of the chocolate pieces.
Expressing her interest, Guthrie confessed, "I've always wanted to pipe."
Soon enough, she seized the opportunity to try her hand at piping on the second slice.
Acknowledging her lack of experience, she confessed to having "never done it" before as she carefully squeezed the chocolate frosting onto the dessert.
However, the host encountered some difficulty in getting the frosting to cooperate, prompting playful banter from her co-stars.
Roker, in a teasing tone, remarked, "Maybe there's a reason you haven't piped before."
He then added with a playful jab, "A little too much eggnog for you!"
The humorous moment unfolded after the hosts had indulged in some holiday cheer with a bit of eggnog earlier in the show.
Approximately half an hour before Guthrie encountered difficulties with the frosting piping, she joined Roker, Craig Melvin, Hoda Kotb, and Carson Daly in sipping small cups of eggnog.
Following a segment on last-minute DIY gifts for the holidays, Melvin handed the reigns to Roker for the weather report.
However, before diving into the forecast, Roker playfully called out to a crew member off-stage, asking her to bring out the eggnog she had prepared for everyone.
Viewers witnessed Guthrie and Melvin enjoying sips of the festive treat, while Roker, holding onto his cup, delivered the weather with a playful touch, pretending to speak with a slight slurring of his speech.
In a lighthearted moment, a crew member noticed a playful on-air blunder as Roker pointed to the map, announcing "a few showers in Texas."
Correcting him, she shouted, "That's Florida, Al!"
Amid the laughter from the co-hosts in the background, Roker casually brushed off the mistake, insisting, "Wherever. Wherever."
Savannah Guthrie chastises Al Roker after he drops NSFW comment on air
Al Roker added a dash of spice to a morning show segment with a playful yet racy joke directed at his co-host Carson Daly.
Despite the lighthearted intention, it seemed to have struck a nerve with fellow co-host Savannah Guthrie.
The Friday, December 22 episode featured sleep expert Dr Carol Ash as a guest, discussing the "growing trend of sleep divorce." This practice involves couples sleeping in separate bedrooms for various reasons.
Dr Carol emphasized that it's acceptable for couples to sleep apart at times, but Carson, an advocate for sleep divorce himself, jokingly mentioned he might present a counterpoint on the 'Today' website.
In a light-hearted exchange, Roker teased Daly about at least "sleeping together four times," indirectly alluding to the four children Daly shares with his wife, Siri Pinter.
Guthrie interjected with a warning for Roker, simply saying “Al”, cautioning the weatherman to refrain from further inappropriate remarks.
