OXFORD, MISSISSIPPI: Vice President JD Vance appears to enjoy strong support from young conservative voters. On Wednesday, October 29, he spoke at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event held at The Pavilion at Ole Miss on the University of Mississippi campus.

As soon as Vance took the stage, chants of “48!” echoed through the venue. ‘48’ chant from students steals spotlight at TPUSA event

Thousands of students at the University of Mississippi chanted “48!” in unison as JD Vance took the stage. At first, he seemed confused and asked, “I don’t know what you’re saying.” Once he realized what the chant meant, he laughed and responded, “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, ladies and gentlemen!” The crowd erupted in laughter and applause.

Vance encouraged students to relax and engage freely, saying, “We’re all here to have a nice conversation, and we’re all supportive of it.” He also drew applause when he emphasized that his job “is not to look out for the interests of the world, but to look out for the people of the United States.”

Joining him on stage was Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk, who helped lead the discussion and connect with students during the event.

Social media lights up after crowd chants ‘48’ for JD Vance

Once the clip surfaced online, it sparked a wave of reactions. One user posted, “I absolutely love to see this. No denying he will be 48."

Another user wrote, "There’s no denying that JD would make an awesome 48th president."
