LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota announced on Friday, September 21, that her husband of nearly 23 years died from pancreatic cancer in July.

The broadcaster shared the heartbreaking news on her Instagram, posting a photo from their wedding day, as per TODAY.com.

She revealed that Timothy Lewis died on July 21 at the age of 58 after a two-year battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Alisyn Camerota reflects on family's struggles after husband's death

Alisyn Camerota wrote in her Instagram post, “Some very sad personal news to share: my beloved and extraordinary husband Tim passed away on July 27th, two years after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I cannot imagine any human being soldiering through a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility, and bravery than Tim.”

Describing him as “a phenomenal father, husband, friend, and role model,” she added, “The kids and I are still getting our bearings. Tim imbued us with a lot of strength and stability and we’re determined to try to emulate those qualities.”

“This month would have been our 23rd wedding anniversary. I feel incredibly lucky to have had such a deep, committed, loving partnership for the time we had. I plan to write more in the coming days and to be back at work in the next few weeks,” the political commentator added.

Alisyn Camerota also noted in her social media post that Tim Lewis, the father of twin daughters Ale and Cessa, as well as a son named Nate, was dedicated to “giving back to his community and making life easier for those around him.”

His family has now established “a fund in his memory to assist other families facing a similar struggle,” and she included a link to it.

Meanwhile, people quickly started expressing their condolences to Alisyn Camerota and her family during this challenging time.

An Instagram user wrote, “Oh, Alisyn! I have no words!! This is the saddest of news. Sending all my love to all of you... xx.”

Another Instagram user commented, “I’m so heartbroken to hear of the loss of your dear husband, Alisyn! My deepest condolences to your family.”
