LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: First images from 'The Crow' starring Bill Skarsgard and FKA Twigs were out recently and the internet was pretty quick to react on Skarsgard's look for upcoming film.

Rupert Sanders film is the fifth movie in 'The Crow' franchise, which is based on the eponymoious comic book series.

The Crow's first look starring Bill Skarsgard

'The Crow' is a remake of the 1994 film of the same name that starred Brandon Lee with Skarsgard. Skarsgard will portray the anti-hero alongside FKA Twigs this time. The protagonist of this film is Eric Draven, a singer who, after being brutally murdered by a gang is resurrected.

When compared to Brandon Lee's appearance in the 1994 movie, which has grown to become iconic in the years after its debut, the new look of 'The Crow' is a drastically different interpretation. 'The Crow' 1994's gothic, white face paint and heavily contoured eyes design was almost comically accurate. However, the Crow 2024's design is very different, relying more on tattoos and employing more subdued makeup.

Regarding Skarsgard's chiselled and menacingly inked-up appearance as the “dude with the dragon tattoo,” Sanders claims that his life served as an inspiration than either Lee’s prior incarnation or O’Barr’s comic novel.

Strangely enough, Bill Skarsgard's Eric Draven dons heavily inked appearance that appears to be a lot like that of Jared Leto's Joker from 'Suicide Squad'. Skarsgard's 'The Crow' has a lot less comic book-like appearance than Lee's.

As far as Skarsgard's look is concerned, Sanders shared, per Complex, “I think the beauty of Bill is that he has a disturbing beauty, and as he transforms through his loss he becomes this thing that even he can’t control. It’s that famous line: ‘Whoever fights monsters must be careful that they don’t become one.’ That look was me in the ’90s when we were squat-raving in London, [mixed with some modern influences] like Post Malone and Lil Peep. I hope people who are 19 today look at him and go, ‘That guy is us.’”

The movie is particularly known for Brandon Lee's tragic death, which occurred on the set during the filming of a scene in which Draven is shot. His death was the consequence of a bizarre incident in which he was shot with the same amount of power as an actual bullet, which stuck in his abdomen and mortally wounded him.
