Trolls give Eiza Gonzalez a lesson in humility after star says she lost films because she is 'too pretty'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Eiza Gonzalez has been denied movies due to her "incredible looks!"
The singer-actress in her recent interview opened up about missing out on several projects after producers told her "she’s too pretty for the role."
Eiza Gonzalez claims it is incredibly hard for Latina women to break through
The 34-year-old explained how being "sexy" is perceived when a woman is from Latina.
"I just think it's an overly sexualized idea of a Latin woman,” Gonzalez told InStyle.
“It's so disappointing and it's so pathetic.” She says it “has been single-handedly the biggest challenge of my career.” The star shared the challenges she had to go through, which are non-existent for others. “None of my white friends who were in the industry were getting that. It was just me,” she lamented.
Gonzalez continued, “I remember being [told for] so many projects, "She’s too pretty for the role. She’s too hot for the role.’” “Then I’d just be like, What is Margot Robbie? She’s the hottest, most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life!”
Talking about the identity crisis she experienced, and even thought about shaving her head. “I had an identity crisis for a very long time. “I was like, Do I shave my head? Do I make myself less attractive? Do I make myself more attractive? Do I not dress super-hot or do I dress super-hot or do I cover myself all the time?” she said.
Eiza Gonzalez trolled over her 'pretty looks' comment
The internet reacted to Eiza Gonzalez's claim that her "good looks" were the reason behind not getting movies offered.
“She can't act her way out of a paper sack!” one commented.
The second wrote, “Naw she just stinks at acting.” Another wrote, “Damn, just like act better…”
Another trolled Gonzalez, “Right.. that's why she is still trying so hard to act her way into a bikini. Still hasn't succeeded.”
“She was acting with a big nose for a while. search her 'before' pictures, and have a good laugh,” one commented online.
“That's pretty rich. Maybe she should have stuck with her original face and let her "talent" shine through,” another chimed over her alleged surgery.
An individual wrote, "She is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, but it isn't homegrown."
"Somebody serve her up some humility pie," read another comment.
