Trolls shred Beyonce as she becomes first Black woman to top country charts with 'rip-off' album 'Cowboy Carter'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Music sensation Beyonce has made history as her new album, 'Cowboy Carter', blasts in at No 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart dated April 13.

The 42-years-old superstar became the first Black woman ever to have led the list since January 1964.

Beyonce makes history with 'Cowboy Carter'

On Monday, April 8, Billboard revealed that Queen Bey's latest album 'Cowboy Carter' has reached No 1 on the Top Country Albums chart making her the first-ever Black female artist to achieve the feat since the list's launch in January 1964.

Along with topping the Billboard 200, Americana/Folk Albums, and Top Album Sales charts, the 32-time Grammy winner's eighth album sold 407,000 equivalent album units during its first week of eligibility.

In February, this year Beyonce became the first-ever Black female artist to top the Hot Country Songs chart with the album's lead single, 'Texas Hold 'Em,' which took over the No 1 slot from Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves' duet, 'I Remember Everything.' 

Cowboy Carter was released on March 29. Beyonce revealed "vocalists, musicians, and orators" on the album include Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Linda Martell, Stevie Wonder, Chuck Berry, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Jon Batiste, Rhiannon Giddens, Nile Rodgers, Robert Randolph, Gary Clark, Jr, Willie Jones, Brittney Spencer, Shaboozey, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell and Tiera Kennedy.



 

Additional collaborators throughout the project were The-Dream, Pharrell Williams, NO ID, Raphael Saadiq, Ryan Tedder, Ryan Beatty, Swizz Beatz, Khirye Tyler, Derek Dixie, Ink, Nova Wav, Mamii, Cam, Tyler Johnson, Dave Hamelin and Shawn JAY-Z Carter.

Earlier this month, the 'Drunk in Love' hitmaker received the Innovator Award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The sensational music artist spoke on stage about hoping listeners will open their to open their ears to enjoying art "with no preconceived notions."

Internet slams Beyonce over her country album 

Although Beyonce made history with 'Cowboy Carter' hitting No 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, the internet was in disapproval. 

An Instagram user said, "In all honesty this is f*****g ridiculous." A user wrote, "Honestly, I'm so tired of hearing about this album already. And it isn't even good." 

The next user said, "A slap in the face to country music." Another user said, "I'm legit here for the 'this isn't country' and seeing the Beehives cook!" 

A user said, "IT'S. NOT. COUNTRY." Another user said, "The album isn't good." A user said, "Who put this album at number one? We want names." 

Another user said, "Put on a hat and call it country...lol." A user said, "Who is listening to this crap?? I'm sorry but the song sucks." 

A user said, "Anyone that thinks this is country, take a quick glance at what country really is." Another user said, "It's the s****iest album."

One more user mocked, "RIP OFF! Other black women artists who are actually REAL COUNTRY artists."

"I think this is a lie. Many people have publicly stated it's awful and it's not country after listening to it," one user said. 

"That music is an insult to the genre," an angry user said. 

One user lamented, "this is beyond sad. I bet country music artists are so pissed rn.."
