WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump, who is the GOP nominee for the 2024 presidential election, has once again found himself at the center of a social media firestorm.

This time, the controversy stems from a provocative video he shared on his platform, Truth Social, targeting his potential Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump's post featured a video titled 'Criminals For Harris' which was produced by the pro-Trump group Make America Great Again Inc.

Donald Trump attacks Kamala Harris for going soft on illegal immigrants

The video accuses Harris of being lenient on crime during her time as a prosecutor, specifically citing her actions regarding three individuals—Edwin Ramos, Roni Aguilera, and Alexander Izaguir—who are labeled as "illegal immigrants" and convicted criminals.

The narrator in the video questions, "What do these criminals all have in Kamala?" and implies that Harris, in her capacity as a prosecutor, allowed these individuals to remain free, thereby endangering the community.

The video goes on to accuse Harris of advocating for controversial policies such as defunding the police, eliminating cash bail, and supporting citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants.

These claims are presented as evidence of Harris's supposed softness on crime and her alleged preference for policies that would make the United States less safe.

One of the key figures mentioned in the video is Edwin Ramos, who was convicted in 2012 for the murder of Anthony Bologna and his sons in San Francisco.

At the time of the crime, Harris was serving as the San Francisco District Attorney. Although Harris sought life without parole for Ramos, the video criticizes her for not pursuing the death penalty.

Another individual highlighted in the video is Alexander Izaguirre, an illegal immigrant from Honduras. In 2008, Izaguirre was enrolled in Harris's 'Back on Track' program, which was designed for nonviolent offenders.

The video claims that a flaw in the program allowed illegal immigrants like Izaguirre to receive job training and avoid deportation.

The third case involves Roni Aguilera, who was found guilty in July 2013 of a gang-motivated sword attack and robbery in San Francisco.

Aguilera allegedly bragged about the crime during a secretly recorded conversation with a government informant. The video insinuates that Harris's policies contributed to Aguilera's continued presence in the community.

The timing of this video release is particularly notable, given Trump's own legal challenges, according to the Associated Press.

The former president was recently convicted in a high-profile case involving hush money payments, further complicating his already tumultuous political career. Despite his legal woes, Trump remains defiant, using his platform to attack his political rivals, including Harris.
