Pope Francis died on April 21st at the age of 88. Born in Argentina as Jorge Mario Bergoglio, he was the first Latin American and the first Jesuit to become Pope when elected in 2013. Taking the name Francis after St Francis of Assisi, he promoted a more humble version of the papacy than many of his predecessors. Internet erupts after viral photos appear to show Donald Trump sleeping at Pope Francis' funeral

As the photos showing Donald Trump dozing off at Pope Francis' funeral went viral, critics quickly seized the moment to slam the POTUS for disrespect.

One wrote, “MAGA this is your president. An absolute international disgrace. Asleep at the Pope’s funeral after earlier chewing gum and playing with his phone. Not to mention dress code was black suit. Trump is bringing generational humiliation to the United States.”

Another said, “Our Country's leader dozing off at the Pope's funeral, what a disgrace and an embarrassment. #SleepyDon.”

“Trump wore a blue suit to Pope Francis' funeral at the Vatican. Then, it appears he fell asleep during the service. Embarrassing,” a person stated.

An individual quipped, "He did say he was looking forward to it. Maybe not for the right reasons tho."

Another person sarcastically wrote, "I'm glad he got some rest. I'm sure the pope didn't mind."

One more fumed, "What a backward, ill-mannered, self serving putz. A small, petty, vain-glorious fool."
