Trump calls Bill Maher 'befuddled mess', says his conversation 'seems to start with or revert back to me'
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump took an aim at comedian and TV host Bill Maher on Saturday, September 21, calling him a "befuddled mess" while accusing his HBO show 'Real Time with Bill Maher' of focusing too much on Trump.
In a Truth Social post on Saturday, September 21, the former president blasted Maher, claiming that the TV personality is suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
Donald Trump's criticism of 'sloppy and tired' Bill Maher
Criticizing Bill Maher's show, Donald Trump wrote, "The ratings-challenged Bill Maher, on his increasingly boring show on HBO, is really having a hard time coping with TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME."
"He is a befuddled mess, sloppy and tired, and every conversation, with B and C list guests, seems to start with, or revert back to, ME!" he continued.
The Republican presidential candidate's criticism extended to Maher's Friday night guests.
Calling out MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle, Trump called her a "dumb as a rock bimbo" and took a shot at New York Times columnist Bret Stephens, labeling him a "Trump-hating loser."
In his social media rant, he also suggested that Stephens should seek another profession, alleging that the publication has become a “badly run” news outlet.
"Stephens should find himself another line of work because I am driving the FAILING New York Times absolutely crazy," said Trump.
"It is very hard, perhaps impossible, for a writer to write well of me without suffering the wrath of the degenerate editors who, with a push from the top, have gone insane," he continued.
Donald Trump calls NYT a 'failing' news outlet
Referring to the Times' past acknowledgment of its misjudgment in the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump predicted a repeat apology.
"They apologized to their readers in 2016 for their complete and total MISS, and they’ll do it again in November," said the 78-year-old politician.
"The FAILING New York Times is a badly run 'newspaper' that has totally lost its way. Put it to sleep!" he continued, according to The Hill.
Trump's remarks come shortly after Maher, on his Friday show, scolded his audience repeatedly after saying “They tried to shoot former President Donald Trump again.”
"This is the second time this happened. I said this before. There can be no fuzz on this. This is not funny! Okay?" said Maher.
"So, look, it’s not okay to wish it happened," he added.
Recently, Maher predicted that Trump would lose the 2024 presidential election, further fueling tension between the television personality and the former president.
