WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump doubled down on his threats to sue Grammys host Trevor Noah during a press conference in the Oval Office. The remarks came a day after Noah took aim at Trump during the 68th Grammy Awards on CBS, cracking jokes that tied the president to Epstein’s private island.

Trump threatens lawsuit over Grammys Epstein joke

When a reporter asked whether he planned to follow through on his threats to sue Noah, Trump responded bluntly. “Yeah. Well, he said that I spent time on Jeffrey Epstein's Island. I didn't,” Trump said.

“I mean, he's a lightweight this guy. He's a terrible... I think he's terrible. I thought he did a terrible job at the Grammys. I thought the whole Grammys was terrible. I watched part of it. He's not watchable, but he was a lousy host. I'd say not as bad as Jimmy Kimmel, but pretty close,” he continued.

Trump used the moment to once again distance himself from Epstein, as scrutiny over newly released documents continues to swirl around high-profile names.

“And no, he made a statement about me and Jeffrey Epstein. I have nothing to do with that. I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein,” Trump said.

“And in fact, if you look at the DOJ, they announced, uh, you know, they released three million pages. It's like this is all they're supposed to be doing. And frankly, the DOJ, I think, should just say we have other things to do because that whole thing has turned out, I mean, other than Bill Clinton and, you know, Bill Gates and lots of people that have... There are a lot of questions about it, but nothing on me.”

Trump has long denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island, Little St James. While flight logs from the 1990s show Trump flew on Epstein’s jet before the two had a falling out, no evidence places him on the island itself. Both Trump and former President Bill Clinton have denied any involvement in Epstein’s crimes.

Grammys joke sparks Trump Truth Social rant

The remarks followed Noah’s hosting gig at the Grammys, particularly his comments after singer Billie Eilish won Song of the Year.

“There you have it, song of the year! Congratulations, Billie Eilish. Wow. That's a Grammy that every artist wants - almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense because, since Epstein's gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton, so” Noah quipped.

The joke referenced Trump’s proposal to buy Greenland from Denmark and tied it to Epstein’s island, as the Justice Department released more than three million pages of Epstein-related documents.

Noah also took a swipe at Nicki Minaj, who skipped the ceremony and is now a Trump supporter. “Nicki Minaj is not here. She is still at the White House with Donald Trump, discussing very important issues,” Noah said.

Hours after the broadcast, Trump responded on Truth Social. “The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer. The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards,” Trump wrote.

He rejected Noah’s Epstein reference. “WRONG!!! I can't speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight's false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”

Trump labeled Noah “a total loser” and threatened legal action. “It looks like I'll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an MC, and suing him for plenty$. Ask Little George Slopadopolus, and others, how that all worked out. Also ask CBS! Get ready Noah, I'm going to have some fun with you!” he declared.
