ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA: Chris LaCivita, Donald Trump's campaign manager, reignited the controversy surrounding an incident at Arlington National Cemetery by aiming at the US Army.

The altercation occurred during Trump's August 26, visit to the cemetery, and has sparked widespread criticism. LaCivita's response has only added fuel to the fire.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Chris LaCivita reposted a video of Donald Trump's Arlington National Cemetery visit, sarcastically noting that he was "hoping to trigger the hacks at @SecArmy," tagging the account of the Secretary of the US Army, Christine Wormuth.

The post came just hours after the Army issued a statement detailing the events that transpired during the visit.

The Army released a statement addressing an incident involving a cemetery employee and members of the Trump campaign. The statement said, a cemetery employee was "abruptly pushed aside" during the visit, which took place on Monday.

"An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside," the Army spokesperson said in the statement on Thursday.

ANC is a national shrine to the honored dead of the Armed Forces, and its dedicated staff will continue to ensure public ceremonies are conducted with the dignity and respect the nation’s fallen deserve," the statement read.

Allison Jaslow, CEO of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, echoed the Army's sentiments as per CNN.

"There are plenty of places appropriate for politics—Arlington is not one of them," Jaslow said. The incident has sparked outrage among various veterans' organizations and individuals.

VoteVets, a progressive organization advocating for issues related to US troops and veterans, criticized Trump's actions in a post on X.

"Trump was using the cemetery for political purposes." The post said, "This whole episode is sickening and an affront to all those hundreds of thousands of families who never agreed to allow their deceased loved ones to be dragged into politics," VoteVets added.

Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh also supported the Army's statement, reinforcing the Department of Defense's stance on the matter.
