TURNBERRY, SCOTLAND: President Donald Trump faced flak from his critics on Monday, July 28, when he fumed at reporters, saying he never had the "privilege" of going to Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous private island.
Trump made the eyebrow-raising statement when asked about the Epstein case while taking questions alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland.
Donald Trump denies ever visiting Jeffrey Epstein’s island, says he ‘turned it down’
Donald Trump told reporters, "And by the way, I never went to the island. And Bill Clinton went there, supposedly, 28 times."
"I never went to the island, but Larry Summers, I hear, went there. He was the head of Harvard. And many other people that are very big people, nobody ever talks about them," the POTUS added.
He then mentioned, "I’ve never had the privilege of going to his island. And I did turn it down, but a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his parties. In one of my very good moments, I turned it down. I didn’t want to go to his island."

Interestingly, this is not the first time the POTUS has seemed irritated by questions regarding the disgraced financier.
According to a GOP insider, Trump recently voiced concerns that he might be accused of being involved in "some funny business" related to Epstein. He reportedly acknowledged the political risks, saying, “They’re going to f**k me anyways,” as quoted in Politico Playbook.
Despite consistently attempting to distance himself from Epstein and his crimes, the POTUS seems to recognize that the controversy could pose serious problems for him.

Earlier in July, when questioned about the Epstein controversy, President Trump lashed out at a reporter and said, "Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years… this creep? That is unbelievable."
However, Trump’s past connection to Jeffrey Epstein has long been under the microscope.
He has repeatedly insisted that he distanced himself from Epstein well before the financier’s 2019 arrest and subsequent death.
