Trump goes after ABC anchor Jonathan Karl’s hairstyle: 'He looks absolutely terrible'

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform to mock an ABC News journalist’s appearance, pausing his latest political tirade to single out the network’s co-host Jonathan Karl.
The remarks came after an interview between Karl and former New Jersey governor Chris Christie aired on 'This Week With George Stephanopoulos.'
Donald Trump ridicules ABC journalist Jonathan Karl's hair
Following the program, Trump lashed out online over Jonathan Karl’s look during the broadcast, writing: “I just watched Sloppy Chris Christie be interviewed on a ratings challenged ‘News’ Show, ‘This Week With George Slopadopolus,’ on ABC Fake News. By the way, what the ‘hell’ happened to Jonathan Karl’s hair? He looks absolutely terrible!”
Trump continued, “(It’s amazing what bad ratings, on a failed television show that was forced to pay me $16,000,000, can do to one’s appearance!). Can anyone believe anything that Sloppy Chris says?”

Broader rant targets Chris Christie over past scandal
Donald Trump’s post did not stop at mocking appearances. He reignited criticism of Chris Christie, referencing the 2013 George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal.

“Do you remember the way he lied about the dangerous and deadly closure of the George Washington Bridge in order to stay out of prison, at the same time sacrificing people who worked for him, including a young mother, who spent years trying to fight off the vicious charges against her,” Trump wrote.
“Chris refused to take responsibility for these criminal acts. For the sake of JUSTICE, perhaps we should start looking at that very serious situation again? NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT,” he added.
The attack on Karl adds to a long record of Trump weighing in on how people look.
From 1996 to 2015, Trump owned the Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA pageants, and previous interviews, including one with Howard Stern, have highlighted his interest in critiquing contestants and public figures alike.
Trump has also had previous clashes with ABC. Last year, the network paid him a $15 million settlement after host George Stephanopoulos misstated on air that a jury had found Trump liable for raping writer E Jean Carroll in the 1990s.
