WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump took a jab at Senator Elizabeth Warren as he called her a "nut job" and demanded she take a drug test during an Oval Office appearance on Thursday, August 14.

President Trump aimed a dig at the lawmaker and reignited one of his longest-standing feuds while speaking to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Social Security Act.

Donald Trump rips Elizabeth Warren for supporting Zohran Mamdani

Donald Trump said, "She's a nut job. I watched her the other night. She's all hopped up endorsing a communist in New York City, and she was all excited and jumping up and down."

The POTUS had been referencing Elizabeth Warren's recent support of New York City mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist, whom he has touted as a communist.

"She's got to take a drug test. She really, though, she's got to take a drug test. There's no way somebody can act that way and be normal," Trump added.

Warren's name came up after Trump was asked about her and Senator Bernie Sanders pushing, as a reporter called it, "misinformation" about Social Security.

Trump also aimed at Warren for lying about her Native American heritage in the past, which he has done frequently. "Elizabeth Warren said she was an Indian. We call her Pocahontas. She’s a liar. She lied her whole career," Trump said.

He further said, "Based on the fact that she was Indian, she was able to get into certain colleges, get certain jobs, get into certain universities to work there. She’s a liar and a mean person."

"Bernie Sanders is Bernie Sanders. I don’t mind him so much. He’s just a liberal guy, very liberal guy, wacky guy. He’s still sharp. I got to tell you, you know, he’s 86, or 87, or something. He’s still sharp," Trump added.

Elizabeth Warren's op-ed on Donald Trump attacking Social Security system

Earlier in 2025, Elizabeth Warren wrote an op-ed for Fox News where she said the Trump administration was attacking the Social Security system.

"We shouldn’t be cutting Social Security services and threatening Americans’ benefits, we should be making the program stronger," Warren said.

She further added, "People are struggling with sky-high prices while their retirement savings are evaporating."

Interestingly, the two managed to agree on one thing earlier this year, after both said that the debit limit should be scrapped.

Meanwhile, Warren self-identified that she belonged to Native American on applications to Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania.

However, after being called out by the POTUS, she later released a DNA test in 2018, which revealed that she was only 1/512th Native American.

Moreover, Trump mocked her as Pocahontas earlier in 2025 during a speech he gave to a joint session of Congress.

Internet sides with Donald Trump

Several internet users sided with Donald Trump as he called Elizabeth Warren a "nut job" and demanded she take a drug test following her recent support of Zohran Mamdani.

A user wrote on X, "I support this and would like @RepJasmine added to the list please," while one added, "Yeah it wouldn’t hurt lol."

A person also stated, "They should all get tested at the beginning, middle, and end of every session," whereas one mentioned, "She's hopped up on firewater..."

Another wrote, "That should be a requirement," while one commented, "They need breathalyzer test before every congressional vote."

One person added, "Every member of government needs to have yearly physical, aptitude and drug tests obviously. If you don’t want to stand with our military members and choose to exist behind them, you can at least have the decency to do what they MUST do each year."
