WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump faced online mockery as he wandered away before signing executive orders and was guided back on Wednesday, April 2.

The incident took place during a Rose Garden ceremony on 'Liberation Day' where Trump declared a national economic emergency and announced tariffs starting at 10 percent on all countries trading with the United States.

The clip, which has since gone viral, showed Trump standing behind a table and waving at the press as they clapped continuously.

The POTUS then wandered away to the side and was then guided back to the table by a person who opened the file with the executive order.

On Wednesday, the POTUS unveiled a long-promised, sweeping set of baseline tariffs on all trading partners.

He described it as "kind reciprocal" tariffs on nations he claimed were the worst offenders in trade relations with the US, per ABC News.

Trump said from the White House Rose Garden, "My fellow Americans, this is Liberation Day. April 2, 2025, will forever be remembered as the day American industry was reborn, the day America's destiny was reclaimed, and the day that we began to make America wealthy again."

Trump's "historic" new measures include a minimum baseline tariff of 10 percent on all trading partners and further, more targeted punitive levies on certain countries, including China, the European Union, and Taiwan, per the outlet.

The POTUS added, "We will charge them approximately half of what they are and have been charging us because we are being very kind."

He also said, "This is not full reciprocal. This is kind reciprocal."

Trump also held up a chart with a list of nations and what the new tariffs against them will be.

The chart was led by China, which Trump said was set to be hit with a 34 percent tariff rate as he claimed it charged the US 67 percent.
