Trump jokes about sending MAGA hat to Harris after accusing her of copying his policies

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Donald Trump mocked Kamala Harris during their first presidential debate at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on September 10.

The Republican presidential nominee accused his opponent of copying his policy ideas and announced his intention to send her a MAGA hat, as reported by ABC News.

Harris had reportedly told attendees at a Las Vegas rally, “We will continue our fight for working families of America, including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.”

In response, Donald Trump slammed her on his Truth Social page, stating, “How long will it be before Kamala Harris comes out with another ‘TRUMP’ policy like, ‘No Taxes will be paid by our Senior Citizens on Social Security?’”

“She’s looking really bad now! Everyone is waiting to see what idea, or policy of mine, she will copy next,” he stated, as per Daily Mail.

Additionally, @TrumpWarRoom tweeted, “Kamala just announced she is stealing President Trump's ‘NO TAX ON TIPS’ proposal. But like everything else she says, it's a pure political calculation she'll never actually do — but President Trump WILL.”

Trump had previously attacked Harris at the Economic Club of New York on September 5.

“We will have no tax on tips, something which they copied four weeks after I said it. She [Harris] got up and said, no tax on tips. I said, I just said that,” he noted.

“She is actually copying a lot of my plan. In fact, we’re going to send her a MAGA cap sometime in the next week. We’re having a special one made,” Trump asserted at the time.

Repeating the same, Donald Trump said during the debate, hosted by ABC News, “She [Harris] has no policy. Everything that she believed three years ago and four years ago is out the window. She's going to my philosophy now.”

He further mentioned, “In fact, I was going to send her a MAGA hat. She's gone to my philosophy. But if she ever got elected, she'd change it. And it will be the end of our country. She's a Marxist.”

Bringing Harris’ father, Donald J Harris, an economist, into the argument, the 45th President stated, “He taught her well. But when you look at what she's done to our country and when you look at these millions and millions of people that are pouring into our country monthly where it's I believe 21 million people, not the 15 that people say, and I think it's a lot higher than the 21. That's bigger than New York state.”

“And just look at what they're doing to our country. They're criminals. Many of these people coming in are criminals. And that's bad for our economy too,” Trump added.
