WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump is entering the New Year with what supporters describe as strong polling results, with recent surveys showing notably high approval within his own party and indications of sustained enthusiasm among republican voters. The results underscore his continued appeal to his core base as broader polling remains mixed.

Donald Trump's impressive poll numbers

According to the latest Gallup Poll, Trump has 90% approval amongst his own party, a strong result that demonstrates the President’s resilience among Republicans.

However, this result does not fully capture the extent of support for the president, as other indicators point to strong backing beyond his core political base.

Trump’s approval ratings appear more notable given that Gallup is not widely seen as a pro-Republican or pro-Trump polling organization and has historically been viewed as surveying groups less inclined to vote Republican.

Earlier this month, according to a poll by The Economist/YouGov, Trump's overall approval rating had improved among millennial voters.

The polling conducted between September 26 and September 29, shows Trump's net approval rating among millennials was -19 points, with 37 percent approving of him and 56 percent disapproving.

This plunged further to -28 points in a poll taken between October 31 and November 3, when 33 percent approved of Trump and 61 percent disapproved.

According to the poll, l39 percent approve of Trump, and 54 percent disapprove, giving him a net approval rating of -15 points.

Trump has gained ground among other voter demographics, according to additional polling, which suggests his approval rating among Gen Z voters rose from -55 percentage points in October to -34 in November.

Nevertheless, the federal government shutdown in October disrupted the distribution of federal funds and services, which may have impacted his approval rating.

Mixed polls show Donald Trump's approval varies

A recent poll by The Economist/YouGov found Trump’s approval rating at its lowest point since he returned to office in January, with 39 percent approving of the job he is doing and 58 percent disapproving, resulting in a net approval rating of -19 points.

As per the recent I&I/TIPP polling, Trump’s net approval rating is -3 percentage points, with 44 percent of respondents approving and 47 percent disapproving.

Trump said on Truth Social earlier this month, "So many Fake Polls are being shown by the Radical Left Media, all slanted heavily toward Democrats and Far Left Wingers…Fake News will never change, they are evil and corrupt but, as I look around my beautiful surroundings, I say to myself, 'Oh, look, I’m sitting in the Oval Office!'"
