WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump called pro-Palestine activists “terrorists” after they vandalized his golf course in Scotland.

The protesters attacked the president’s Turnberry golf course on March 8, Saturday.

Graffiti was spray-painted on the golf resort and the golf course was dug up as they wrote “Gaza is not 4 sale”, reported Daily Beast.

The protesters also wrote messages like “F**k Trump” and “Free Palestine” across the property. Following the vandalism, a 33-year-old man named Kieran Robson was charged.

A 75-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were also taken into custody but they were eventually released pending further inquiries.

Palestine Action slams Donald Trump’s plans to ‘ethnically cleanse Gaza’

Palestine Action, a pro-Palestinian protest network, took the responsibility of the damage and claimed it was done to show their disapproval of the US government’s plans to “ethnically cleanse Gaza".

They stated that they “reject Donald Trump’s treatment of Gaza as though it were his property to dispose of as he likes".

“To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance,” the group asserted in a statement.

The vandalism took place after Trump sparked outrage when he suggested the US could “take over” war-ravaged Gaza and “own it”.

Donald Trump dubs Turnberry golf resort protesters ‘terrorists’

Donald Trump took to Truth Social to slam the protesters who vandalized his Turnberry golf resort. He wrote on Sunday night, March 30, “I was just informed by Prime Minister Starmer of the United Kingdom, that they caught the terrorists who attacked the beautiful Turnberry, in Scotland.”

The president also stated that “they did serious damage, and will hopefully be treated harshly. You cannot let things like this attack happen, and I greatly appreciate the work of Prime Minister Starmer, and UK Law Enforcement.”

In response, Palestine Action also released a statement, saying, “While Trump whines about his golf course, and Starmer consoles him, US-supplied bombs continue to pound Gaza to rubble, with the aim of the destruction of the entire Palestinian population.”

They added, “We look forward to the day both these murderers, and the other complicit Western leaders face justice.”

Internet slams Donald Trump for 'terrorist' remark against protesters

Meanwhile, people online crtiticized Donald Trump for his remarks against the Turnberry golf resort protesters.

One Facebook user commented, “I don't know about you, but I'm feeling the love...just like January 6th,” referring to the January 6 Capitol riot in 2021.

Another user posted, “They are heroes.”

One user shared, “But spreading feces on the walls & floors of the capital and breaking windows and destroying furniture was just a tourist visit. Those tourists were not only pardoned but he's now talking about giving them compensation. I guess the Republican's definition of domestic terrorist depends on the party or nationality.”

“Showing their love, much like Jan 6,” a person wrote.

Another sarcastically said, “It was an act of love just like January 6.”

“Pathetic little man-baby," a comment read.

A person remarked, “Getting a taste of what you deserve?”

"So by your definition of what is a terrorist all jan 6th that you pardoned are terrorist. So you support terrorist," an X user tweeted.
