WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump erupted over a series of polls showing trouble for him and the GOP. In a fiery Truth Social post on Monday, November 3, the POTUS insisted that the reality was different from what the recent polls showed.

His post came after a CNN/SSRS survey released on Monday reported that Trump’s approval rating had dropped to a second-term low of 37%.

Trump says 'fake polls' are skewed toward Democrats, far-left wingers

In the Truth Social post, Donald Trump wrote, “So many Fake Polls are being shown by the Radical Left Media, all slanted heavily toward Democrats and Far Left Wingers."

He insisted, "In the Fair Polls, and even the Reasonable Polls, I have the Best Numbers I have ever had and, why shouldn’t I?"

Trump then listed what he called his accomplishments: "I ended eight Wars, created the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country, kept Prices, Inflation, and Taxes down, and am setting standards for Right Track / Wrong Track for a future U.S.A."

"Fake News will never change, they are evil and corrupt but, as I look around my beautiful surroundings, I say to myself, 'Oh, look, I’m sitting in the Oval Office!'" the 79-year-old concluded.

Trump shared the post just hours before Americans cast ballots in several key races that are reportedly largely favoring Democrats.

What do recent polls say about Trump’s approval rating?

The CNN/SSRS survey of 1,245 US adults conducted in late October found that 63% of respondents were unhappy with Donald Trump’s performance as president. His approval rating stood at 37%, the lowest of his second term. The last CNN survey, conducted in mid-July, found 42% approving of the POTUS and 58% disapproving.

The CNN/SSRS poll follows a YouGov/Economist survey from last week, which showed 57% disapproved of Trump’s performance, while only 39% approved. Nearly three-quarters of respondents in the CNN poll said the US economy is in poor shape, and 61% said the Republican leader's policies have made economic conditions worse.

Another YouGov/Economist survey found Trump with a negative net approval on handling jobs and the economy (-22 points) and inflation (-32 points).

It is worth noting that Republicans are also facing challenges in the polls amid the ongoing government shutdown.

An NBC News survey conducted in late October found that 52% of Americans blamed Trump and/or congressional Republicans for the shutdown, compared to 42% who blamed congressional Democrats. The same survey showed Democrats leading Republicans for control of Congress by eight points, 50% to 42%, with a year to go before the 2026 midterms.
