PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WISCONSIN: Former president Donald Trump doubled down on his opposition to the migrant influx to the US, and shockingly, a fly prompted his rant.

Addressing an indoor rally crowd at the Prairie Du Chien Area Arts Center in Wisconsin on Saturday, September 28, the GOP presidential nominee spotted a fly in front of him while talking about illegal immigration, which has taken the central stage of his race against Vice President Kamala Harris.

"Oh, there's a fly," Trump said, according to Raw Story. "I wonder where the fly came from?"

Trump says a fly would not have come two years ago

"See, two years ago, I wouldn’t have had a fly up here. But they’re changing rapidly. We can’t take it any longer," Trump continued speaking about the creature.

However, the MAGA leader is not the first person to come into contact with a fly during a heated campaign. In 2020, a fly landed on his former vice president Mike Pence's head while he was debating Harris. The creature remained on his head for around two minutes, turning it into meme content on social media.

Donald Trump calls Kamala Harris 'mentally disabled'

During the Wisconsin rally, Trump ripped his Democratic opponent, labeling her "mentally disabled" and "mentally impaired."

The real estate mogul's speech was mostly focused on illegal migrants entering the US through the southern border in light of Harris' recent visit to the US-Mexico border.

Posters displaying migrants charged with murder and other violent offenses were kept on stage that read, "End Migrant Crime" and "Deport Illegals Now," as per The Independent. The ex-president also reiterated his anti-migrant rhetoric, calling those charged as "monsters," "vile animals," and "stone-cold killers."

With only just over a month left for the election, Trump has made anti-immigrant comments in various instances. During the ABC News debate on September 10, he put forth a debunked conspiracy theory that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating the residents' pets. Despite the widespread backlash, his running mate, JD Vance, amplified the pet-eating migrants rhetoric.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered 400 Texas National Guard troops and state police to the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso, which is under a state of emergency due to a surge of migrants crossing from Mexico into the city. During a press conference during the border visit earlier this week, Harris promised to resolve the nation's "broken immigration system" and claimed the 45th president was "fanning the flames of fear and division."

Trump connecting fly on stage to illegal immigration sparks mockery on Internet

Netizens responded with ridiculing remarks targeting Trump after he linked the fly to illegal immigration during a Wisconsin rally. Some suggested the former president was losing his mind, while another bunch quipped the creature was attracted to the foul smell.

"What? He's really going downhill fast," a user said.

"Which brings us back to the comments about Trump’s body odor. — Unpleasant for humans, not so much for flies," another remarked.

"See how easily distracted he is and by a fly," added a third user.

"He sounds like an old washed up comedian lol," read a fourth response.

"The fly can detect a foul odor; it seems like someone needs a shower!" someone else wrote.

"He's losing his gd mind," another wrote.

"4 years of this drivel would drive any sane person to jump off a bridge. Good lord, this man is insane!!!" an individual chimed in.

"Think about it…what are flies attracted to? The poor innocent fly is just doing what flies do," read one remark.
