Trump mocks 'wandering' Dan Goldman, says ex-congressman is chasing a political comeback
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald J Trump has reignited his long-running feud with former New York Congressman Dan Goldman, portraying the Democrat as a politically defeated figure searching for relevance after years spent investigating and criticizing him.
In a sharply worded Truth Social post on Wednesday, June 24, Trump ridiculed Goldman, a former federal prosecutor who played a prominent role in congressional investigations involving him.
Even though he tried unsuccessfully to prosecute me, and despite the fact that he is a major Slimeball, I feel sorry for FORMER Congressman Dan Goldman. He is wandering aimlessly, together with the former husband of the great Kellyanne Conway, through a large field of Dumocrat… pic.twitter.com/43sA02elWM

The latest attack continues Trump's broader pattern of publicly targeting former political adversaries following his return to the White House.
Trump accused Goldman of unsuccessfully trying to prosecute him and dismissed the former congressman as a failed political figure struggling to find a path back into public life.
The comments immediately revived tensions between two figures whose rivalry stretches back to some of the most contentious oversight battles in recent Washington history.
Trump reignites old political rivalry
“Former Congressman Dan Goldman... is wandering aimlessly,” Trump wrote, adding that the Democrat was attempting to find his way back into political relevance.
The president also linked Goldman to former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway's ex-husband, George Conway, another frequent Trump critic.
Trump claimed the pair represented a broader group of political opponents who spent years trying to damage him politically and legally without success.
The remarks are the latest example of Trump's willingness to revisit old disputes with lawmakers and prosecutors who challenged him during previous administrations.

Goldman rose to national prominence during Trump's first term, serving as lead counsel for House Democrats during the president's first impeachment inquiry.
He later won election to Congress and became one of Trump's most outspoken critics on oversight and legal matters.
Throughout his time in Washington, Goldman repeatedly accused Trump of undermining democratic institutions and frequently appeared on television defending congressional investigations involving the president.
Trump's latest broadside suggests that despite Goldman's departure from Congress, the president still views him as a symbol of the legal and political campaigns that dominated much of his first presidency.
The renewed clash underscores how many of the personal and political rivalries that defined Trump's earlier years in office continue to shape the national conversation as his second administration moves forward.
