Donald Trump shares Barron's request to meet Charlie Kirk

President Trump shared on Friday that his youngest son, Barron, was deeply affected by the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Speaking on 'Fox & Friends,' Trump said, “He was very hurt when he saw this. But, I mean, everybody was.”
Trump explained that Barron, who recently returned to the White House while continuing his studies at New York University’s Washington, DC campus, admired the 31-year-old Kirk and had asked to meet him. “Barron came to me and he said, ‘Dad, I’d like to meet somebody that you know … Charlie Kirk,’” Trump recalled. “I said, ‘What?’ I thought he was going to say, ‘I want to meet King Charles’ or something.”
The president arranged a lunch between his son and Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA.
Reflecting on their meeting, Trump said, “He came back and said, ‘That guy’s great, Dad. That guy’s great.’ You know, it was cute. I’ll never forget Barron coming back saying, ‘Dad, that guy’s great.’ Normally, he’s not full of praise.”
Trump has previously described Barron, his only child with Melania Trump, as politically aware and often a source of advice, especially when it comes to engaging young voters, a goal Kirk was also passionate about.

Looking ahead, Trump confirmed he will attend Kirk’s funeral in Arizona next weekend. He paid tribute to Kirk’s lasting impact, saying, “Charlie had a magic over the kids and large numbers of them, and very diverse, Black, White. I mean, everybody, the young women and boys, and I’ve never seen anything like it.”
