WASHINGTON, DC: Tensions between President Donald Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk have hit a new high, with Trump publicly renewing his attacks and making it clear he has no interest in mending fences.

In a sharp exchange during a Fox News interview, Trump dismissed any chance of a phone call with Musk, underscoring the deepening rift sparked by Musk’s vocal opposition to Trump’s "Big, Beautiful Bill," which he has slammed as a "disgusting abomination."

The feud has since turned personal, with Trump mocking Musk’s alleged ketamine use, downplaying his previous government role, and even threatening to cancel federal contracts with SpaceX.

Donald Trump not interested in easing tensions with Elon Musk

Despite a Thursday night report suggesting White House aides had arranged a phone call with Elon Musk to ease tensions, President Donald Trump escalated the feud instead, telling Fox News on Friday, June 6, that “Elon’s totally lost it.”

Reporting from the White House on Fox News’ 'America Reports', senior national correspondent Aishah Hasnie addressed the likelihood of a Trump-Musk phone call, stating, “I would say the chances are very, very slim to none.” She emphasized, "And that’s, really, quite frankly, coming from the president himself, who apparently is calling just about everyone or getting on the phone with just about everyone except for his old pal Elon Musk."

According to Hasnie, Trump had just spoken with Fox’s Bret Baier and reiterated that he had no interest in speaking with Musk. Hasnie shared, "He just got off the phone with our Bret Baier and told him this, that he is not interested in talking to Elon. He is not worried about any of these third-party threats. Elon’s been on X talking about, perhaps, 'We should create a third party.'"

Trump also cited strong polling numbers in his favor, both nationally and among Republicans in Congress, reinforcing his confidence amid the rift. Hasnie reminded viewers that the dispute originally stemmed from Musk’s opposition to Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which the Tesla CEO continues to criticize, as per Fox News.
