WASHINTONG, DC: Amid his dramatic fallout with Donald Trump, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has asked Republican lawmakers to side with him as he will live longer than the POTUS.

The 53-year-old tech billionaire has been locked in a very public spat with his former boss after bashing his much-ballyhooed "Big Beautiful Bill," which would extend the president’s 2017 tax cuts, boost defense and border security spending, and implement new requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it,” the former DOGE leader wrote in one of his posts, later claiming that if passed, it would increase the US budget deficit by $5 trillion.

Elon Musk reveals why Republicans should side with him

Donald Trump addressed Elon Musk’s criticism of his bill in an Oval Office press conference, where he claimed that he was "very disappointed" by his former advisor.

"I'm very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here, better than you people. He knew everything about it. He had no problem with it," Trump said.

Trump downplayed Musk's impact in last year’s presidential election, claiming he would have won whether or not Musk got involved, according to Mediaite.

Later, Musk also fired back at Trump’s claims, attacking “Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate… Such ingratitude.”

Conservative firebrand Laura Loomer shared a screenshot of Musk’s comments and wrote, “It’s heating up. Will be interesting to see what Republican lawmakers do now. I know law makers who are asking if they should side with President Trump or Elon. I’ve been on the hill all day and it’s all anyone is talking about. The most powerful man in the world vs the richest man in the world.”

To which, the SpaceX boss replied, “Oh, and some food for thought as they ponder this question: Trump has 3.5 years left as President, but I will be around for 40+ years…”

Elon Musk’s net worth plunges amid fallout with Donald Trump

Following Elon Musk’s attacks on his beloved legislation, Donald Trump clapped back, saying “Elon was 'wearing thin,' I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!”

He even threatened to cut his government subsidies and contracts, of which both Tesla and SpaceX have been immense beneficiaries.

In response, the tech billionaire called for Trump's impeachment, mocked the president's signature tariffs, and accused him of having ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

However, Musk’s attacks appear to backfire brutally, with the tech mogul losing $33.9 billion off his net worth.

The tech billionaire’s net worth suffered a major blow after Tesla’s shares nosedived by about 14.2% at the market close on Thursday, June 05, as per a report by Forbes’ real-time Billionaires tracker.
