Trump says he 'will always appreciate' Marjorie Taylor Greene as she steps down from Congress
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump peeled back the curtain on Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene’s sudden resignation, claiming that the Georgia congresswoman quit not out of principle, but to avoid a humiliating defeat at the ballot box.
In an early morning Truth Social post on Saturday, November 22, Trump dismissed Greene’s lengthy explanation for leaving Congress, arguing instead that "PLUMMETING Poll Numbers" forced her hand.
The President asserted that Greene had "no chance of winning" against a primary challenger backed by his endorsement.
Marjorie “Traitor” Brown, because of PLUMMETING Poll Numbers, and not wanting to face a Primary Challenger with a strong Trump Endorsement (where she would have no chance of winning!), has decided to call it “quits.” Her relationship with the WORST Republican Congressman in…

Trump reveals why Marjorie Taylor Greene 'went BAD'
While Greene cited being cast aside by the establishment in her resignation video on Friday, Trump offered a far more personal and blistering reason for their fallout.
"For some reason, primarily that I refused to return her never-ending barrage of phone calls, Marjorie went BAD," Trump wrote, portraying the congresswoman’s recent defiance as a reaction to being frozen out by the White House.
My message to Georgia’s 14th district and America.

This narrative countered Greene's claim that she refused to be a "battered wife" in the party, shifting the focus to her inability to secure the president's attention during her reported political downward spiral.
Trump even debuted a new nickname for his former ally, referring to her as "Marjorie 'Traitor' Brown," a reference to her alleged stance over the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Trump blasts Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene alliance
The president also took aim at Greene’s political alliances, specifically her partnership with Rep Thomas Massie on the discharge petition that forced the Epstein bill vote.
Trump labeled Massie the "WORST Republican Congressman in decades," mocking him as "Rand Paul Jr" for voting against party interests.
"Her relationship with... Tom Massie... did not help her," Trump declared, suggesting that her association with the reportedly libertarian-leaning congressman alienated her from the MAGA base.
Massie had earlier praised Greene upon her resignation, stating he would "miss her tremendously," but Trump seemingly made it clear that this alliance was a political liability that accelerated her downfall.
Marjorie Taylor Greene blames 'political complex' as Trump claims primary defeat
Trump claimed that Greene’s exit was a strategic retreat rather than a moral stand. He alleged that she "decided to call it 'quits'" because she did not want to face a "Primary Challenger with a strong Trump Endorsement."
This seemingly contradicted Greene’s assertion in her Friday video that "loyalty should be a two-way street" and that she was tired of the "Political Industrial Complex."
I stood with President Trump when almost no one else would. I campaigned for him all over this country and spent millions of my own dollars helping him get elected.

That’s why being called a “traitor” isn’t just hurtful, it puts a target on my back and puts my life in danger.… pic.twitter.com/LPDjpldExn
Greene had claimed she was leaving because she didn't "want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the president we all fought for."
But Trump’s post suggested that the outcome of such a primary was already a foregone conclusion due to her tanking popularity.
Trump ends the Greene relationship on a neutral note
Despite the harsh analysis of her polling numbers and personal conduct, Trump ended his message on a magnanimous note. He signaled that while she was out of the fold, he bore no lasting ill will now that she was leaving the stage.
"Nevertheless, I will always appreciate Marjorie, and thank her for her service to our Country!" the president wrote.
This aligned with his earlier comments to ABC News on Friday, where he reacted to the news by saying, "I think it’s great. I think she should be happy," effectively closing the book on one of the most tumultuous relationships in the Republican party.
