Trump scolds CNN’s Kristen Holmes over 27% Latino approval rating: ‘Your whole outfit is fake’
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump snapped at CNN’s Kristen Holmes when she asked about polls showing his approval rating among Latino voters had dropped to 27%.
Standing outside the White House before heading to a rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, Trump brushed off her question. He insisted his numbers looked “great” and called Holmes and CNN “fake.”
Trump attacks CNN after question on Latino voters
"Your approval ratings with Latino voters have dropped down to 27%," Holmes told Trump.
Trump Slams CNN Over Fake Polls on Latino Support – “Your Whole Outfit is Fake, and so Are You!” | Jordan Conradson, The Gateway Pundit President Trump on Monday eviscerated CNN’s Senior White House Correspondent, Kristen Holmes, when she tried to ask him about his polling with Latinos, claiming that only 27% of Latinos approve of him. Recent polling from NBC and Telemundo claims that Trump’s approval with Latinos has plunged to 27%, crediting concerns over the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement and the cost of living. “Two-thirds say his administration’s deportation policies have gone too far and three-quarters disapprove of how he has handled the economy and the cost of living,” according to NBC. As he was departing the White House en route to Nebraska for a midterm rally, Holmes asked Trump about the polling, and he went off on her and her outlet. “Oh, I’m doing great. No, no, you got my poll — you’re fake news,” Trump told Holmes, blasting CNN as “fake” and pointing to his crowd sizes at the rallies. “You’re CNN, you’re fake news. My poll numbers are great, and all you have to do is look at the crowds we’re drawing. And every time I leave, that candidate will be losing, and by the time I leave, they’re winning.” “No, CNN poll numbers are fake, and your whole outfit is fake, and so are you,” he added. Trump has escalated his attacks on CNN since booting CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House last month, and is facing a lawsuit from the networks. Still, Trump later banned CNN and Politico from accessing Air Force One to travel as part of the White House press pool. The outlets are now asking U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly for a preliminary injunction to extend their access to the White House until the case is resolved, as well as seeking restoration of their access to the President on Air Force One. This comes after Kelly granted a temporary restraining order, reinstating their access to the White House grounds. Trump has continued bashing CNN for their anti-Trump coverage. Last week, the White House released a video compilation of Trump slamming CNN and its reporter, Kaitlan Collins, during his press conferences over the last year and a half. Trump also went off on CNN and Collins during a rally on Saturday, prompting thundrous booes from the crowd and chants of “fake news” and “fck CNN.” https://t.co/1kvcZAiGSm

"Oh, I'm doing great," the president countered. "No, no."
Cutting off the rest of Holmes' question, Trump continued, "You're fake news! You're CNN.”
“You're fake news. My poll numbers are great, and all you have to do is look at the crowds we're drawing, and every time I leave, that candidate will be losing, and by the time I leave, they're winning.”
“No, CNN poll numbers are fake, and your whole outfit is fake, and so are you."
Trump also attacked the polling figures, saying CNN’s poll numbers were fake before turning his criticism directly toward Holmes.
Holmes got the source wrong; the poll he mentioned wasn’t from CNN but from NBC News and Telemundo.
They surveyed 800 registered Latino voters during the last week of September, and the margin of error was 3.5 points.
Trump’s broader fight with news outlets
This disagreement with Holmes happened while Trump kept up his attacks on CNN and other media outlets.
Over the weekend, he took another shot at CNN during a rally, and his supporters jumped in with anti-CNN chants.
All this came on the heels of Trump barring CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House press pool. He doubled down, accusing those organizations of pushing “FICTION and LIES.”
The three outlets took their case to court. US District Judge Timothy Kelly stepped in and gave them a 14-day temporary restraining order, forcing the administration to restore their press access.
Still, Trump didn’t back down. He blocked both CNN and Politico from joining Air Force One for their usual turns in the press pool.
He replaced CNN with MAGA-friendly outlets like LindellTV and Real America's Voice. Now, Judge Kelly plans to hold a hearing on Thursday to decide if he’ll keep Trump’s ban on hold while the case moves toward trial.
The exchange with Holmes adds another public confrontation between Trump and the news media as his administration faces an ongoing legal fight over press access to the White House.
