His remarks on the dire consequences of open border policies came as he addressed a Rose Garden luncheon held in honor of Mother’s Day

"Among those with us this afternoon are a number of the Angel Moms who saw their precious children stolen from them by the open border policies of the radical left,” Trump said. "I call them stupid borders, not open. I call them stupid borders by stupid people that put them there.”

During the Mother’s Day event, the commander-in-chief addressed an audience of military parents, White House staffers, and other guests.

Trump honors ‘wonderful mothers in our lives’

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Trump described Mother’s Day as a day for “honoring the women who raised us and all of the wonderful mothers in our lives.”

During his remarks, he paid tribute to the families of the 13 US service members killed in the Abbey Gate bombing by ISIS-K during the withdrawal.

“I also want to express my love for the moms with us whose extraordinary heroes gave their lives in the te**orist attack at Abbey Gate in Afghanistan,” Trump said, referring to the ISIS-K bombing that occurred on August 26, 2021.

“That should have never happened, that was incompetence by the Biden administration,” he added.

Trump concluded his speech with a vote of thanks and said that it was “so important we do things like we keep men out of women's sports.”
