ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: Donald Trump's supporters in North Carolina have voiced their confidence in the former president's commitment to fight for women's rights if elected in the 2024 race.

A woman from the Asheville rally on Wednesday, August 14, said, “I think that women’s rights are really important, and Trump is fighting for women’s rights.”

The rally, which was held at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, was a notable event for the city.

Donald Trump's campaign was also forced to pay over $82,000 upfront for the Asheville rally due to its "last-minute" nature.

The venue, which seats 2,341 people, is significantly smaller than the ExploreAsheville.com Arena where Trump spoke in 2016.

Despite the reduced capacity, the rally drew significant attention as the 78-year-old politician continues his campaign for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. Donald Trump's election history in North Carolina

Earlier this year, Donald Trump secured a decisive victory in North Carolina's primary, winning 74% of the vote against his challenger Nikki Haley who garnered 23%.

While North Carolina is not considered a swing state in the 2024 election due to its strong support for Trump in the the last two presidential elections, some observers believe the state could still play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the race.

The GOP presidential nominee won North Carolina in both 2016 and 2020, defeating Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden respectively, though he lost the national contest in 2020.

Despite Trump's past successes, he faces a challenging race against Vice President Kamala Harris in the state in the upcoming November election.

According to a recent survey by the Cook Political Report, Harris has gained a narrow lead over Trump in North Carolina, signaling a potentially competitive contest as the 2024 election approaches, reported USA Today.

Internet mocks Donald Trump's supporters for saying ex-POTUS fights for women's rights

As Donald Trump's Asheville rally attendees expressed confidence in the GOP presidential nominee and his commitment to fighting for women's rights, netizens mocked the MAGA supporters opinion.

One user on X wrote "These ladies need to research how Donald Trump treats women and what rights he wants to take away. Notice how the girls cannot name any specific rights Trump is fighting for?" Another tweeted, "Trump fighting for women's rights? Please, he's been a one-man war on women's autonomy!"

"That is exceptionally dumb. Even by Trumplican measuring standards!" a netizen opined and someone commented, "Talk about delusional. Guessing she never heard of Roe v Wade."

"Woefully uneducated voters are the key to GOP success," a user remarked and another individual tweeted, "I’m starting to believe that those weird red hats are affecting people’s minds."
