Trump’s super PAC raises over $300M ahead of 2026 midterm elections
WASHINGTON, DC: A huge pile of cash could shake up this year’s midterm elections. According to information released on Friday, January 2, a super PAC (Super Political Action Committee) connected to President Donald Trump, MAGA Inc, has more than $304 million to spend during the 2026 midterm elections.
Much of Trump’s fundraising comes from wealthy individuals and companies looking to gain influence with him while supporting his political goals. This level of funding gives Trump and his allies a major advantage in backing candidates, running ads, and shaping the election narrative.
Even though Trump cannot run for president again, his endorsements and funding still influence Republican and election campaigns nationwide.
OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman donated $25 million to MAGA Inc
According to a CNN report, Greg Brockman, the co-founder of OpenAI, donated a massive $25 million to MAGA Inc. This amount makes up one-fourth of the $102 million the group has. As per the new filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Brockman's donation made up around 25% of the money MAGA Inc raised between July 1 and December 22.
Brockman said in a post this week on X (formerly Twitter) that he has increased his political activity to show “support for policies that advance American innovation and constructive dialogue between government and the technology sector.” He also praised Trump and his administration for their “willingness to engage directly with the AI community and approach emerging technology with a growth-focused mindset.”

Other major contributions in the second half of 2025 came from both companies and wealthy individuals. E-cigarette maker Juul Labs donated $1 million, while tech billionaire Jared Isaacman gave a total of $2 million for the year.
Blackstone Inc co-founder and Republican mega-donor Stephen Schwarzman contributed $5 million last month, according to filings. Schwarzman, CEO of the global investment firm Blackstone, also gave to Trump’s White House ballroom project, which the president has said could cost $400 million.

Why the 2026 midterm elections are crucial
The 2026 midterm elections are scheduled for November 3, 2026. Voters will decide all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate. These results will shape the 120th Congress.
In addition to federal races, 39 state and territorial governor elections will take place. Many state and local elections will also be held across the country. These midterms will play a key role in determining which party controls Congress and influences policy decisions on issues ranging from the economy to public safety and healthcare.
