Tucker Carlson accuses Boris Johnson of demanding $1M for Ukraine interview, Internet says 'not surprised'

IRVING, TEXAS: Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has ignited controversy after a recent interview in which he accused former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson of demanding $1 million for an exclusive interview about the war in Ukraine, as per The Wrap.
Carlson's provocative claim became an internet firestorm, with many social media users slamming Johnson. The allegation comes on the heels of Carlson's recent trip to Russia, where he conducted a sit-down interview with President Vladimir Putin.
Tucker: "Boris Johnson calls me a tool of the Kremlin or something. So I put in a request for an interview with Boris Johnson. Finally one of his advisors gets back to me and says he will talk to you but it's going to cost you a million dollars. He wants a million dollars." pic.twitter.com/Y7qADbx2H4

Tucker Carlson claims Boris Johnson demanded $1 million for interview about war in Ukraine
In an interview with Blaze TV’s Glenn Beck on Tuesday, February 20, Carlson alleged that after he returned from a recent trip to Moscow, where he interviewed Putin, he reached out to Johnson requesting an interview.
Johnson had previously criticized Carlson as a "stooge of the tyrant" for his interview with Putin, according to The Independent.
According to Carlson, Johnson initially declined the interview request. However, after Carlson pressed further through mutual contacts, he finally received a response from one of Johnson’s advisers.
"He will talk to you, but it’s going to cost you a million dollars," Carlson claims the adviser told him. "He wants a million in US dollars, gold, or bitcoin – this just happened yesterday or two days ago!"
Carlson told a stunned Beck that the demand showed Johnson was "a lot sleazier, a lot lower than Vladimir Putin." He also slammed Johnson for having "at the request of the US government, stopped the peace deal in Ukraine a year and a half ago."
As of now, Johnson has not publicly responded to Carlson’s allegation that he demanded $1 million for an interview. Johnson stepped down as British Prime Minister in September 2022 after a series of scandals cratered his government’s credibility.
However, he has remained vocal in supporting Ukraine against Russia’s invasion, in alignment with the US and other NATO allies.
Internet erupts with criticism of Boris Johnson
Following the revelation that Johnson reportedly demanded $1 million for an interview about Ukraine, the internet swiftly voiced its criticism. One X user lambasted Johnson's worth, declaring, "Boris isn't worth five cents." Another user disparaged Johnson, stating bluntly, "He'd just lie anyway."
